Totally silly ..

Looks like me. Wife just told me I either had girlfriend(s) or I am a drug dealer. She says no one needs that many phones. In which I told her if I had girlfriends with a "s" I could afford to buy 1 phone let alone the 4 I have and if I sold drugs well we'd be alot better off financially. Ha

Of course neither is true, she just doesn't understand the phone addiction.

Yeah, which is why people excited/cynical about 7 years of support are funny to me. I'm getting a new phone at least 2 years from now, if not sooner. The only people who should be excited for this are my kids, who are definitely getting Pixel 8s as their starter phones... in 2028, when they're $50.

Widespread reports of cases degrading quickly. Bad quality. Bad materials.

They are made of mostly recycled materials, so that may have something to do with it. I ordered the G case myself with my phone, in the black (more of a dark gray) and I really like it so far. Feels good in the hand, not slippery at all. It was nice to get $10 off it.

Being made from recycled material doesn't inherently mean low quality. That comes from sloppy manufacturing and lacklustre quality control.

I received a case to me today, which so far, is awesome. The Torras has mag, kickstand, opaque back (can see the color but it is mute), so far it is the best. I love my Bellroy, but this is a complete case.

I have been eyeing that Torras case. Will the phone still charge on a Pixel stand?

I like the idea of Magsafe. But not sure if I will really use it.

Yes it charges on the pixel stand. I have nothing Magsafe and wasn't sure I would ever use it but hey, I have it.

I have always liked the Bellroy cases and do like the blue one I got for my P8P, it looks sexy. I know @Bkdodger1 had a blue one before for one of his many phones, I am curious how the patina is with time?

I also received the Pixel branded blue case, it feels nice and I like the "felt" lining. I still have the Spigen Rugged Armor but wish I had gotten the Clear, that blue color of the phone is bad a$$. If I could find a good clear case with kickstand I would probably get it. I have always been the black phone guy, because I put on a case and I truly thought this Bay color would be to flashy for me.

Decision time, do I return all blue case options and get something to show the natural color...first world problems indeed.

Personally speaking I've never liked clear cases. As much of a Pixel fanboy as I am, I don't think they're particularly attractive enough to need to see all the time. I was very happy to see that clear cases didn't dominate the market for the P8P like they did for the P6P.

Just ordered 6 cases from Temu for a grand total of $11. To be fair, I had a $5 credit, but still, it's way cheaper.

Amazon's dirty secret is that all the $10-$20 off-brand cases there are actually $2-$3 on Temu.

Why did I order 6 cases? No idea.

Just received the official google case for my 8 pro and I love it!
It feels great and it fits perfectly.
I'm so happy that I ordered it on sale from best buy.
Highly recommend!

Also, should be receiving my bellroy case tomorrow.

I pay Google £13 a month so that I don't have to see adverts for that app lol. The chances I will ever use it are very slim just because of how hard it has been pushed on me

I feel you. The only reason it's where I go for cases is literally because people are selling the same exact cases on Amazon after buying from Temu in bulk. Same deal with tempered glass screen protectors.

Not much...not a thin case per say but definitely not in the OtterBox or heavy duty cases level.
