Pixel 8 Wrong time given by assistant

I have a Pixel 8 with Android 14.

The phone has the correct PST time but when I ask the assistant "what time is it" it always give me EST which is 3 hours later. I have the phone set to use location and as I say the phone is showing the correct time, it's just the assistant gives the wrong time when asked. Does the assistant get the time from a different setting than the phone?

The discussion below may help. I saw quite a few posts about this problem, so it appears you are not alone.

I also would think that Assistant would reference/use the phone's time zone and resultant time.

Maybe others will have more ideas on how to solve this.

Well, interesting..after playing around with it I realized the assistant only uses the wrong time zone when the phone is using WiFi instead of cell. It doesn't make sense to me because my laptop is using the same WiFi and it has the right time, so I know my router is configured correctly. I even checked the router time zone setting and it's correct.

It also doesn't explain why when using WiFi the phone has the correct time but the assistant doesn't.
But at least I know what to expect if I'm on WiFi
