Pixel and Pixel XL to At&t

I have to buy my phone through work, and it has to be AT&T. I am really excited to hear that its going to be released through them.

I sure hope this is TRUE, as I would prefer to keep my AT&T HD Voice, and WiFi calling options. Also AT&T is the best LTE service provider in my area VZN, TMO or Sprint don't offer LTE out this way other than 3G service

I stop by Verizon today just to go ahead and take a look at the pixel XL and it was really really nice, no bloatware just a solid phone. I went into AT&T to see the features I would be missing if I got it off the Google Play Store. Before he would answer he said that AT&T just signed the contract to get the Google pixel phones. He said they don't have a release date yet but they are 100% getting the Google pixel and pixel XL on AT&T.

Idk about everyone else but for me it's the yearly upgrade. If i buy it from Google I'm stuck with it

Same for me. Then you have to worry about trying to sell it etc and you end up paying full price. If it comes to AT&T and I upgrade after a year, I only paid for half the phone.

Nope. Drops to H when you make a call. That is why I hope AT&T starts selling it. Maybe then it will be certified for AT&T to offer HD Voice, wifi calling, etc.
Sadly they should offer it either way. All these things work on Verizon / T-Mobile so there is no excuse for AT&T to not offer it as well.

That is half speed for me on AT&T LTE where I live. I am spoiled by the AT&T LTE speeds along with HD voice and recently WiFi calling not sure I could get thru my day to day business calls without it
Nice! T-Mobile for my area is like AT&T for yours :D.

Yeah, really bummer that voice calls drop to H. and WiFi Calling was pretty nice also. I definitely notice the call quality when not over LTE. It's not a deal breaker for me as I don't spend a lot of time on phone calls but it would definitely be nice for AT&T to allow these features on the Pixel.

The reason I would go for the Pixel from carrier just so I can get WiFi calling and other features like NumberSync working. This is possible in iPhone today even if you buy it unlocked. It is high time we android users get the same treatment and hopefully Google can push that with Pixel phones.

Don't forget built-in video calling, too. I know Hangouts and Duo work for video calling, but it is nice having the video calling button and functionality built right into the dialer/dial pad. I also miss the message sync that is only available with AT&T phones. SMS backup and restore works okay, but again it is not as seamless.

In other threads they say that the VZ apps start downloading as soon as you insert a VZ sim.

A lot of people say get it through Google because you won't get the carrier bloatware. I didn't get a thing. I bought mine through a Verizon store and there was absolutely no bloatware. I didn't need to delete a thing.

yes, that video calling feature does come in handy. I don't use any of the AT&T back up services so that's no biggie for me either.

When you buy it from the Google store you don't get any carrier bloat, but who knows; you still may not get that much buying from a carrier with this phone.

When I bought my pixel at my local Verizon store, it didn't have any of the Verizon apps installed on it.

Mine with only 3 bars of AT&T LTE, hence why I need my Pixel to be able to run on AT&T with all AT&T services (hopeful)

I've heard this before, and I can't help but think this is just a good salesman trying to keep you from going to Verizon. I hope I'm wrong...

Agreed. The Blue is nothing like the purty Samsung Note blue... it's much more teenage girl like.

But would that really be a good salesman? That's the kind of salesman who hears it from me months later when the phone never arrives and wishes he had some morals. Oh, and who gives me a credit on my next billing statement for making junk up. lol
