I don't know what happened but either the Adaptive Battery update or the June Update has created major issues in my phone. I charge via Google's USBC chargers (My wife and I have had 6 Pixel phones so we have a lot of these chargers) and it randomly will stop charging at 50% (or at least after 4 hours plugged it, it will say 50% charge. When I plug it back in, it doesn't say "Charging" or "Charging Rapidly" as it should show for a USBC Charger with a good cable. Then sometimes it will charge fine. Take a look at these odd battery usage graphs from yeasterday and today.Screenshot_20200602-185642.jpgScreenshot_20200603-203708.jpg.

The 50% one was from yesterday. Today it said 31% so I rebooted and it said 41% and I took the screen shot, later I rebooted again and got 50%. What is with that odd gap in the 2nd screen shot???

Dang that sucks I haven't had an issue. You might have to perform a reset to see if it fixes the issue.

Yeah I would do factory reset if you had this issue after the update . Most times you don't have to but seems like your case you might need that .

Yeah I agree. I tried performing hard reset. On my Pixel 3 XL with the June security patch/feature drop, My battery has only gotten better.

My suggestion would be factory reset.
Btw me and my wife had 6 pixel phones as well. Both skipped pixel 3.

I started having network issues (T-Mobile, may be unrelated as things are fine now) but my face unlock stopped working. Deleted the face data and now it won't let me set it up again. **Reset fixed face unlock**

Did factory reset?

I did a factory reset 3 timess today and none one worked. I didn't just use the "reset factory default settings" in the OS. I also followed this advice from this Android Central Article (https://www.androidcentral.com/how-factory-reset-android-phone):

How to factory reset via recovery mode on a Pixel/Android One phone

If your phone is on, power it off.
Hold down the Power and Volume down buttons. Instead of booting up normally, you'll see "Start" in an arrow pointed at the power button. Here you use the Volume buttons to scroll and the Power button to select an option.
Press the Volume down button until you've highlighted Recovery mode.
Press the Power Button to start recovery mode.
When your phone reloads, you should see a screen that says "No command" with an Android robot in distress. Press and hold the power and volume up buttons together to load the recovery mode.
Using the Volume buttons to scroll through the menu, highlight Wipe data/factory reset.
Press the Power button to select.
Highlight and select Yes to confirm the reset.
Once the reset is complete, you will be bounced back to the same recovery mode menu. Press the Power button to select Reboot system now.

Every time I brough it back up it still had the 50% battery problem.

As a last resort you could download the factory image from Google and flash your device to a fresh state. I've seen a few different threads on this problem and if reflashing the device didn't work they had to get a replacement.

I have been having the exact same issues. Stupid 50% battery. Was having the issue for over a few weeks. In the last week it got really bad and more noticeable.

Have you had any odd prompts from your OS telling you an app is using large amounts of battery, bu the % is low? I ask as my Pixel 4 XL has been telling me that ActionDash was using a lot of battery, when in fact it was less than 1%. It also was telling me it was crashing a lot. I uninstalled the app and so far so good. My phone charges.

One thing I noticed. While it was acting up, the Battery settings screen and Amphere would say Unknown for the battery charging status. But, that being said, the main screen of the Settings screen list would say the battery was charging.

So, I find this seriously hard to believe, but after a day of working fine. To test, I reinstalled Action Dash and it went back to not charging and showing Unknown. Then, again uninstalled ActionDash and it is back to charging.

I have no clue what this app is doing that the recent update has broken. I have had this app installed for a while.

Well, I have moved my Fi SIM from my Pixel 4 XL to my Galaxy Note 9 (AT&T unlocked). The battery percentage on my Pixel 4 XL has been stuck on 50% for a few days. Seems to be running okay as I charge it a few times throughout the day. I will wait until the July patch update before I do a factory reset.

In the last week, I have also started to get a few UI glitches and delays. Such as opening the app drawer or pulling down the top navigation menu, they are jerky and pop open.

Pixel 4XL shut down and showing 50% battery

Earlier today my 4XL shut down three different times and has been showing 50% battery charge for the last 10+ hours. No idea what the actual charge is nor why it shut down. Anybody seen this?

I posted the following reply to the Google Support Community Forum, relating to this issue. After the August 2020 patch update, my Pixel battery issue may have gone away.

Any thoughts??

"Does anyone here have the Pixel 4 XL with the issue, and then updated to the August 2020 patch update and the issue go away? I have had the issue since the June 2020 update came out, and no fix after the July 2020 update.

Today, I went to do a factory reset to send it back to Google, and after the update, the battery charge % is working and it is charging fine. I have restarted the phone 5 time snow, still fine. Also, the phone had been factory reset a few days ago, and I signed into it with my account, but did not restore it and did not install any 3rd party apps."
