They're not punishing anyone. Some people wait before buying to see what type of issues if any a product will have. The company lowers the price to seal the deal with those on the fence.

pixel hasn't discounted this steeply this early before. There is a reason Apples doesn't do it. In general, Flagship phones dont' do it. will not drop 20% one month after release. Tesla lowered the price and offered customers a refund for hte difference. YOu dont' want to punish people for taking the risk early and buying your products before reviews, its not good for for customers loyalty. Over time it's bad for google too because it punishes people for not buying your phone on release > bad for overall sales when people are the most excited for your product.

Fool me once.. Not buying another phone on release unless it's apple.

As I pointed out, the BF deals from Verizon we're discounted much more steeply than the offer you listed. They were giving them a 50% discount, where the one you showed, $150 off, is less than 19%.

I don't know if you're new to this, but early adopters ALWAYS take a financial hit for getting it first. That's why you always hear people say they're waiting a few months for the price to come down. The situation is exacerbated because of the nearby holiday season, and that happens every year because of when Google has decided to launch their phones, just over a month before Black Friday and just over 2 months before Christmas.

No, Apple doesn't discount their devices, at least until it passes the one year mark. But why is that a good thing? I get it, you're mad you didn't wait. But there were threads in this forum the week the phone launched speculating about what the BF deals were going to be, so it's not like the information wasn't readily available to you.

That thread is only 15 pages long. When I got my first smartphone, a Droid Incredible, the number of pages was in the hundreds. And the number of people here are nothing compared to subforums for some of the more established phones. I know you were more exited than most, but this wasn't any different than most other phone launch. If anything I'd say it was low, mainly due to the divisive nature the notch brought with it.

I know. I'm looking at a new truck, and right now there are zero incentives or rebates from the car manufacturers, because they're so new. There are plenty of discounts on last year's models, but nothing for the 2019s. That won't happen for several months from now.

I can't believe the OP has never seen this before, it's literally a cornerstone of new products. And generally, how steep the process fall off is an indicator of how well the initial sales number were. It's comparable to the home release date for movies. The sooner they're available for home release, the lessoney theyade at the box office. That's why bombs show up after only a couple months and blockbusters usually don't release for about 6 months.

You're not entitled to a discount price a month after you purchase the phone on release day. I can't believe you even think you would be.

See all the money going out the door, to all the City, county, state, insurance companies rent, and the employees.
Look at the bottom line of the profit line.
You wouldn't be taking so much about they should of gave me something for free.

Had corporate companies asking me to give bids, and was looking for free.
Had 14 other companies giving bids that did the same thing as me.
I turned around and walked out the door.

I guess it depends on the vehicles. There are 2019 deals out there but obviously not what you're looking for.

Right, but today trucks and SUVs are the money makers, so they will be discounted less than other vehicles. If they had trouble moving them, we'd see discounts on them.

Correct, Pickups especially hold their value very well. You won't see many discounts when a brand new redesigned vehicle comes out unless inventory starts to build on dealer lots.

You may feel betrayed now, but you can get your revenge next year. Wait till Black Friday 2019 and the Pixel 4 will be discounted.

Knowing what I know now, I'll wait an extra month to save.
