pixel FLAC files playback issues

I just moved from a samsung s7 edge to a pixel

I transferred over my song library. I used media monkey on both devices..and I have a lot of music as FLAC files

songs that play on my samsung are not playing on the pixel--with a "skipped inaccessible track" error message.

I've never had this before--has anyone experienced something similar?

I don't know what media monkey is but I have a mix of flac, ogg, wma, mp3 and have found that some players will play all of them and some won't. I have been through six or seven players but vlc and jet audio both have managed to play whatever I throw at them. Pi does ok on most of them, too but I don't like its set up or ui as much.

Have you tried VLC?

I did and it seems to work, although with the same files on my samsung galaxy s7e, it plays fine on media monkey.

they are flac files, maybe the ultra clean version of nougat for the pixel is missing some codecs? I don't know. VLC works but I do prefer the interface of media monkey.

I play FLACS every day just using Google Play.
Works/sounds great.
