Pixel overheating and shutting down while recording long duration videos

I was recording a video today. After recording for around 10 minutes, pixel started over heating and finally shut down. I removed the case and the phone was too hot to hold. Rebooted the phone but could not view the video I recorded. It was showing error. However, I could see that the video was for 2.6 GB (4K) using file manager. But there was no way I could view or back up the video. Anyone faced similar issues?

Who knows what could have happen, maybe a defective unit. Have you tried to download the video to your computer via USB cable?

Even big dslr have this type of peoblem. Need to shoot in small chunks like 5mins each or so, otherwise they overheat.. My nex 7 snot has similar issue if I take longer than 5min video.
