That's got to be for the 128GB model.

A bit higher than I'm hoping for, but I'm spoiled by prices on phones like my OP3. It's why I'm really waiting for these to come out. My wife wants a new, bigger phone since her iPhone 6 isn't cutting it anymore. Neither of us think the pricing on the flagships is terribly reasonable, either Apple or Samsung anyhow.

I believe the believers believe that the "Pixel and Pixel XL will only have two options: 32GB or 128GB. No 64GB model".
Hmm I wonder why no 64GB. I'm assuming 32GB will be good enough for me as I don't store all this music on my phone and use Google photos for my pictures.

But no SD card of course either.

Unlikely, no. If you want an SD card, look elsewhere. The HTC 10 would probably be my suggestion.

(And expecting an SD card on a Nexus/Pixel/Google phone is like expecting rapid Android version updates on a Samsung phone.)

re: Pixel & Pixel XL Pricing Rumors

If Google wants to raise the bar on device storage, offer 2 storage options for each - 64GB or 256GB, especially if they plan to forego expandable storage.

One caters to the casual user allowing flexibility to accumulate a large number of apps. 64GB is enough to store a decent amount of music, videos, and photos. You'll have a great balance between streaming and storing files locally.

The other caters to the power user allowing for an even larger number of apps and large amount of music, videos and photos. When I think of 256GB, I see users going offline for hours or even days and having enough content where they won't have to manage it often.

More and more streaming services are allowing for viewing offline. With 4K on the rise, and HD versions becoming the norm, they'll only take up more space on a device.

Agreed, more storage is better. It seems like we just got rid of the 16GB entry point but I don't see why the new entry point should be 32GB. I too would like to see more devices that ship with 64 and 256GB as options, preferably the two lowest options.

I'm personally holding out for the 1 TB model.

Diminishing returns. My personal hurdle is 64GB because my music library is 32GB.

If you are using the phone as a video camera and want that much memory for that I'm thinking there are much better products for that.

Agreed. Not to mention that people who are used to clogging up 64GB of space on a phone will eventually do the same thing with 256GB of space and still go on blaming the phone when it starts to get laggy and buggy.

Definitely so. I hardly ever use up my space. I don't like clutter on my phone. Love keeping it fresh and fast. All my photos on google photos cloud, ect. I can't wait for this phone.

I wonder why too. Maybe we're setting ourselves up for disappointment expecting some type of budget pricing. $649 is cheaper than the S7 and iPhone7. The Edge and Note 7 hover around $800 And the ip7+ is around there as well.

The difference is that Apple and Samsung are established and most consumers will pay any price on an installment plan.

While Google made headway with the Nexus, it looks to be going premium with Pixel. I hope people will give them a chance.

A huge Plex library on my PC, and the ability to sync as much of that as I want to the phone is nice.

Why is that?

Because for me, if that is the 32GB model, then I imagine the 128GB model will be $100 more... or $749. That's about $100 short of the iP7+/128GB model which gets support far longer than the 2 years OS/3 years security Google promises. The Pixel XL better be much cheaper than the equivalent iPhone unless the buyer is a fanboy of one system or the other.

And while I am an admitted Android fanboy, I won't hesitate (well, I will a little) to move to the system that offers better value. And value to me is a system that I don't have to invest in every year or two to stay current with OS and security updates on a smartphone that remains snappy in operation.

To view on a small screen and burn up your phones battery with a lot of SOT? I think I'd rather a tablet for that, it will do all the above better. Save the phone for the important stuff.

I'm of the opinion that Google can price their phones however they want.

I'm also of the opinion that Android OEMs would get pissed if Google went ahead and undercut them just because they can.

And now that you bring up security and support, you can get way more out of an iPhone. Technically, I can be "current" with OS and security on an iPhone 5 from 4 years ago.
