DPR, a fantastic digital photography site, just posted their review of the iPhone 7+ camera. As part of the review you can compare to a number of other camera phones, including the Pixel, in a controlled environment for both well lit and dimly lit scenarios. In these shots, the Pixel clearly wins in both, which the reviewer notes. The detail preservation is pretty remarkable as you move the crop around the picture. The faces are handled much better, and words are legible for the Pixel, where they are a muddled mess on the iPhone.
I've really had some struggle with low light photos

I had the picture taker tap the screen before taking this next one and came out much better...
So yeah, you do have to make sure you have the scene in focus for sure...I didn't have this much much on my Note 5/7 so trying to get used to it on the Pixel.
And by the way, yes, I may not look it but I'm a grandfather...that baby boy is my grandson...
