Shame it doesn't have the stereo speakers on the front. I wonder what it sounds like with headphones too

iPhone 7 doesn't. It has to be built into the headphones. Which is why that was a dumb move.
(For headphones of course...the speakers don't really count)
iPhone 7 has an onboard stereo DAC, last time I checked, it still had speakers.iPhone 7 still has a DAC. Remember that "converter" that converts lighting to 3.5MM? There is no DAC nor AMP in there, so where do you think the DAC is?
Yes, this is the same DAC used with the HTC 10, I'm thinking Google has crossed all Ts and dotted all Is with the pixel. I'm so glad mine will be here in 2 very long weeks. I ordered mine though Fi and they had a little better selection than the Google store.
Here's the site for the DAC/Soc 821

Yeah I thought they might be wrong but didn't have the data to correct them. You are totally wrong: " The HTC 10 uses a stand-alone DAC as well as headphone amp and isn't using the Snapdragon 820 DAC. This is pretty important, and why the HTC 10 sounds as good as it does." HTC 10 audio testing — BoomSound evolved | Android Central

I may be wrong, but to say that I'm ”totally wrong”is disingenuous. I read what was put in front of me. And, if you tap the link inside the article I cited, you can drill down on more information about the aqstic codec. I've attached it for you. Are you certain that I'm ”totally wrong?”

I came to the same conclusion comparing my 6p to my newly acquired Pixel.Compared to my 6P, the 6P front facing speakers are way better and play a lot louder, but the Pixel's headphone jack is better (goes about 20% louder IMO). Both are plenty loud for me using high end earphones. Sound quality is similar, I can't tell a difference with Google Play Music as my source.
No only one side is. The other side houses a micI thought both ports on the bottom were speakers, is that not true?
