New to the Pixel phone and with the new Pixel 4 coming out, I am curious if google offers trade in for their previous phones and if so, what's the most that they have offered? I currently have the Pixel 3, which I got when they placed it on sale during Black Friday.

I see that Samsung is offering a $600 trade in value for the Pixel 3. Does Google offer something like that for their new phones?

Thanks

I've owned every Nexus and Pixel phone from the Nexus 4 to my current Pixel 3 XL (my wife has the non-XL). Google did do a trade-in deal on the Pixel 3's, but a fair number of people felt they got screwed by the deal. You can go to the very last page of the Pixel 3 forum and find threads there on the subject.

FWIW, I just ordered a 3a using an iPhone 7S with 128GB RAM as a trade-in. Unless I get screwed (see above), I'll get $215 off the $399 price of the 3a.

I traded in an old 1st gen Pixel XL for my current 3 XL, and got $133 trade-in value. Not bad for a 2.5 year old phone. I imagine trade-in for the Pixel 3 in excellent condition will probably be around $200-250 towards the 4.

I believe i got $285 for my 2xl towards the 3xl. Combined with the extra $200 off for black Friday it made it worth it for me.

Thanks. Good point. I got my 3xl during the Black friday deal. Good to know that the trade in deal was also available till then as well. I may do that this year.

Honestly the resale value of Pixel 3 is trash now so even if they give anywhere between $450-$550 trade in value it'll be great. I don't think they will come anywhere close to Samsung's $600 trade in offer during Note 10 sale. But if they come close to $500 I'll be happy

I think both Pixel 3 and XL will be $300 max. $600 towards Note is actually pretty good, that and the $150-200 worse of free accessories. Some also have Samsung points and Note comes out free :)

Me too - anxious to see if Google tries to "match" Samsung's generous offer to keep Pixel people in the fold.

That would be awesome but I doubt Google will match Samsung's offer of 600 for a pixel 3 xl but I'll hope they do, lol

It makes sense for Samsung to go overboard and offer that big a trade-in, because they want people to switch and don't really care about affecting Google's (or anyone else's) market share. But Google probably has to be careful about ticking off the OEMs, so they have no big incentive to match that kind of deal.
