Phone looks beautiful, wide angle is cool but haven't found a use where I wanted to really use it yet but know they exist and I will enjoy the option. Love Samsung pay and when I use my Pixel I always miss not having it. Photos are nicer than my Note 9 I feel, less Samsung over smoothing and more noticeable detail. Pixel stills are still better but then the optical zoom is a great tool as well. FPS is a mixed bag on the S10 for me, it works but it is slower and requires deliberate actions that make it a passive action not possible, no muscle memory. It's nice having my Note 9 or Pixel 3XL unlocked as I pull it out of my pocket. The S10+ is insanely fast and smooth, makes me feel my Pixel could use a bit more RAM after playing with it. I'm not sure I love the Samsung yet but it's pretty sweet.

Thanks for sharing. If Facial Recognition could be used in combination with the FPS, maybe that would help? Asking as I don't know if that combination is possible.

As a comparison, in my experience the Pixel 3 FPS works well every time, as does the S9+. The Pixel 3 FPS location feels more natural and seamless compared to the S9+, as I'm always worried about putting my finger on the bottom camera lens for the latter.

Maybe over time using the S10/S10+ FPS will become second nature.

Your experiences are the same with my S9+, Note 9 and 3XL. They just worked. I feel the in display was for advancing tech just to say we did it first. I could be wrong but it works, feels like mid gen FPS tech in that it works more often than not but it's not as fast.

How's the cameras after March 8th update that they were pushing?

Some say back camera is not as good as Pixel and front is just junk, is that true? I've seen some comparisons on YouTube and it seemed ok, even better then Pixel in most daylight shots

Comparing the top cellphone devices is really splitting hairs and calling one better than another sometimes doesn't come down to which one is better. It's often a matter of the type of photos and processing that you like. Some like brighter pictures, some like saturated colors, and on and on. The bottom line is you can't go wrong with the top tier devices.

Agreed.

As a pixel user and other devices
Samsung did a really good job with the s10+ I have, including fingerprint sensor.
but I dont compare my phones with one another because they offer me different experiences I like in each of them

Indeed, indeed. I often think this is what gets missed, in general, by tech journalists. Devices absolutely should offer a unique experience and should be reviewed through that lens as a stand alone device. Personal subjectivity does no one any good from a consumer point of view. They should come with a disclaimer, *For entertainment purposes only*.

But you can compare so people with like devices have a baseline to know what you're trying to say.

I can give you my thoughts on each device I own or what I like it does but to compare it's not completely fair .
Example:
I like my note 9 , it has the spen other phones dont have that experience or function.
My 1+6 I like the OS and how fast and fluid it is.
I like my pixels, the camera ,immediate updates , clean android experience
My s10 , like ultrasonic fingerprint, the camera's,battery life ect.
Or my iPhone X fast smooth, like how the UI, beautiful phone but dont like no customization but it's a very very good device

So its different things I like
Cant compare them with each other but i can tell you what i like in each of them .

If you were to do a comparison, someone like me would be only looking at the comparison as a point of reference. Like I am interested in hearing your thoughts on One UI, but more from a functional point of view than an preference point of view. Like "On One UI, doing X accomplishes Y. Whereas on the Pixel, you do Z accomplishes Y" ... That to me is interesting and something, someone like me would like to hear more about and discuss.

I know, where I would start to lose interest is once the conversation turned more subjective and towards "this is better than that"..

Absolutely! Same here

I read posts detailing people's experience with various devices but they almost next tell us how they use them. I have friends who are on their phone for hours a day playing games that involve shooting people. They often complain about slow performance and bad battery life. Another friend frets about what she misses on Facebook when she's in the shower because her phone is not sufficiently waterproof. Since I have no games on my phone and don't do Facebook or any other "social media" neither of them have anything relevant to say. I'm also quite deaf so I have to use Bluetooth earphones to talk on the phone, That only happens at home on calls I initiate. I do text...a lot to friends, family, and business associates.

Sometimes I reminded of the woman who complained to the police that her neighbor was running around the house naked. The police officer looked out the window and said, "But, you can only see him from the neck up."

"From here, sure, but if we go up to the attic, climb out onto the roof, and look down at his bathroom window, then you're see what I'm putting up with."
