Pixel w/ Gear S3 Samsung Pay not working?

Just got my Pixel -- and installed Android O Beta.
After installing the Gear app, I'm trying to get the Samsung Pay set up.
I go through the initiation process on the watch to instigate Samsung Pay, it says to Check the Phone, but nothing is showing. There's also no 'SAMSUNG PAY' section within the Gear app.

Anyone able to get Samsung Pay to work with the Pixel + Gear S3 Classic?
I'm really hoping so -- I love samsung pay and it works everywhere. That was a consolation to leaving my S7.

SOLVED: Samsung Pay doesn't support Android O Beta; reverted back to Android N, and it's working again

It only makes sense that you can only use Samsung Pay on a Samsung device.

It should work with no issues, make sure the app on your phone and S3 are updated.

Sadly, though, the 'Samsung Pay' app doesn't show up in that section.
It does show up in the 'Samsung Galaxy Apps' section, as version 0.01, though there's no option to check for update (only Uninstall/force stop).
I'm very disappointed if I can't get it to work. It worked fine with my N5X a few months ago, figured the Pixel would be no different in terms of setup.

I'll unpair the watch, uninstall the Gear App, and re-install it in hopes that it will have corrected the error.

Well. I'm an *****. I negated to look at all the pieces of info here, and realized that I had installed the Android O Beta on the phone.
In doing other research, Samsung Pay doesn't officially support Android O yet, only supports up to N.
Reverted back to official N, and Samsung Pay works just fine on the watch.

If that is the case (updating to O breaks Samsung PAY) I'm going to hold off updating when I gets pushed out next week. I use out everyday

It does work with gear s3 and pixel. I activated by phone with cibc but could not pass verification screen and cibc kept saying conflict cause of android pay on pixel. So I resetted Samsung Pay, and reentered card, it then validated my card then give me an add option to verify tru sms, got the code and now everything is setup to go on watch.

Tested Samsung Pay with Gear S3 and Pixel with CIBC card today and all went according to plan. I had to provide a signature on verification with CIBC, copy of signature is on watch card in card info, don't know if they will request evrytime or just first time to seal some sort of contract, but minor item.

This thread was back in August, during which time no Samsung phone had Oreo -- and therefore no official support by Samsung (by extension - Samsung Pay).
Thanks for letting others know that it now works, but at the time (In August), it was not supported.

Thought the S3 did Samsung Pay on it's own and didn't need Samsung Pay to be on the phone as well?
