Pixel XL & a Kenwood TH-D74A

There's just enough geeks around these parts that I might get an answer to this question.

I'm trying to pair my Pixel XL to my new Kenwood TH-D74A transceiver. The transceiver sees the Pixel just fine, but the Pixel doesn't see the radio and won't pair. I can't figure out why the Bluetooth connection isn't both ways.

(Trying to run APRSdroid, if it makes a difference - this requires a paired phone.)

I didn't get any answers on the Ham Radio forums, so I thought I'd give it a shot here.
