Pixel XL GPS Issue

I am a daily user of Waze for the traffic and taking the fastest route. I have had an issue with the GPS locking and staying locked while driving. The GPS is constantly rerouting and thinking I am on side streets or the other side of the road. Needless to say this very annoying.

I have checked and my GPS is set to high accuracy. I was going to try Google maps this afternoon to see if it had the same issue. Anyone else have this issue with their Pixel?

Drove for an hour this morning using navigation on google maps the whole way and no issues. I will test waze on my way home and see how that works to see if it is an issue there. Any chance you have a car mount with a magnet or anything near the phone that could throw the GPS off?

I use Maps daily, even when I know where I'm going because it alerts me to traffic and accidents and re-routes me to avoid it, and it has been working great for me. As a matter of fact, it helped me an accident this morning and saved me 28 minutes according to apps.

I have the same issue with Waze, while Google Maps is perfect. I'm going to try to screen record it today because it is weird behavior. It makes Waze really annoying with constant rerouting.

I had the same issue with waze too. Are you using a magnetic car holder? I changed to a regular car and it seems ok after. Didn't try Google map yet. I started another thread on this. Should had just respond to yours.

It may be a Waze issue / bug. I use Google Maps and have been testing out GPS to ensure it works and so far it's been spot on.

I am for about a day now, but I had the issue before I put the plate on the back and started using the magnetic holder.

Like many other users, I have been using the plate and magnet mount on a Note 4, S6, Iphone 5 and Note 7 with no issues. Could still be the problem but would be a big disappointment as I love the mount I have.

Yeah, that's exactly what's wrong with mine. Maybe it just waze and has nothing to do with my magnetic holder. That's good news if that's the case.

Using Google maps seems accurate similar to note 7 GPS. I have an intermittent problem in Google maps sometimes the voice will crackle. I Don't think it is a hardware speaker problem since it only happens in Google maps.

@Prof-KOS, exact same problem I experienced with Waze.

As a test I used Google maps on the drive home with my magnetic mount and it was flawless. I will reach out to the pixel 24/7 support to see if they have any suggestions. Come on Google you own Waze, this shouldn't happen!

I frequently have the problem with "GPS signal lost" while driving and using google maps. No car mount etc. Never had this problem along the same routes with my S7 Edge. BTW....I do not miss my S7 Edge since I've gotten my Pixel XL.
