Pixel XL Not Locking Properly?

I have my settings as:

Power Button Automatically Locks: ON
Automatically Lock: Immediately
PIN: Enabled

I don't have Smart Lock set up for trusted places nor On-body detection.

The issue:
After locking with the power button, all I need to do hit the power button and swipe up to unlock...no imprint or PIN required.

Is this normal?

No, definitely not normal and not the way it is working on my Pixel XL.

Are you *sure* it is not a SmartLock thing? You know, it operates with more than just trusted places and OnBody detection. There is also trusted devices (like Bluetooth earbuds, auto, watch, etc.) trusted face (not likely) and - hmmm... - I thought for sure there was also trusted wi-fi access point, but I don't see that now.
