Pixel XL system update?

Mine either but I am hanging in there. I have stuck it out so far so for me personally if I have to live another week or two before it hits, I am good. I used wi-fi calling pretty extensively from my home yesterday and did not lose connection on any of my calls so at least I am lucky for that. I am not really into the entire side loading process as I had to do enough of that when I was on my blackberry and wanted to side load Android apps so I could use them, so I decided I will wait it out. No other phone out there really appeals to me right now. I went back to Verizon the other day and was looking at some of the other offerings before I went with the pixel. Something about the form factor and simplicity to me that just makes it a cut above the rest personally. I know the minute I would decide to get rid of this for something else, the killer fix would come along and end all of the problems permanently.

I agree; the weight, form factor, etc. of the Pixels are appealing to me. In my case, the Pixel is an "extra" phone. It doesn't replace anything. I'll come back to it later when I know everything is working. I was going to hold off maybe if I could get this update via the beta program. But I can't wait. I'm at the end of my return window.

I have also been a long time Blackberry fan and owned several of their phones. My actual first choice of a phone, was the DTEK60 by Blackberry. It's actually a phone made by Alcatel with Blackberry's specs. I actually ordered the phone, but for some reason, Digital River, the company that processes the orders for Shop.Blackberry, denied my order, even though my bank had approved the purchase. Apparently, my billing and shipping addresses triggered a red flag in their systems. One week later, they sent me an email telling me to go ahead and re-order. However, by then, it was two late. I started researching the Pixel because I decided I wanted an android phone with no larger than a 5 inch screen ( i know the dtek60 has a 5.5 inch screen). The obvious issues being discussed here is the reason I did not buy the pixel, and should a fix never come, It would have been difficult and expensive to return it here from South America. I also was not willing to go without LTE connectivity.

Once I realized that the Pixel would not work down here, because of LTE connectivity issues, I started looking for a "4.7 - "5 android phone that had flagship specs, and would work down here. I almost pulled the trigger on the Samsung A3 2016 model, but after checking the specs, I realized it did not have B4 for LTE. I was able to further confirm this, by going on MOVISTAR AR's device compatibility page, ans sure enough it was not compatible. So I was then, left with no choice. I went with the 4.7 inch iPhone 7 mat black 128 gig. In do time, I am sure I will own another android. I could have gone with the Samsung Galaxy S7, but again, it's a bit larger than what I wanted, so I will try this phone for a while, and if I don't like it, I will get see if the PIxel is fixed or if not, an S7 edge it will be.

Anyhow, for you Pixel owners everywhere, I hope a solution comes for you guys ASAP, especially after all of the $$ you spent on the pixel. I hope google can fix this. It is looking more and more like they will.

almost went with the DTek60 myself but not available on my carrier and I didn't wanna switch. It's been getting great reviews but on the other side like the size of the pixel better

I wouldn't even consider another phone other than the Pixelated one. I will wait for fix. Turning off advanced calling for now has taken care of the issue till Google supplies the real fix.

When I turn off the advanced calling, I can't get any kind of connection period

I thought I was going crazy for a minute as some people say they can only maintain a connection with it turned off. It's the opposite for me. Sounds like for you too

By the time this is over and done with I am going to feel that Verizon should reduce my bill for the lack of services within the past almost month!!!

It's their exclusive phone on their network. I honestly think you have a case to ask for a refund. You may think I'm kidding but I'm not. I have frequently received credit from Comcast if I lose service even for a matter of hours.

I thought about it but will wait and see how this plays out. Especially since I read on reddit that the latest update resolves the 4G lite and connectivity issues with everyone that has installed it. That is my biggest issue. Funny though they stated no real change log was published, but it does add a few additional perks
