Pixel XL to work on Sprint?

I've never used WiFi calling in my life. Why is this important?

Some people may go to known weaker signal areas but have wifi there. They can use wifi as their cell signal and still have calls/txt service through their carrier via the wifi.

Some people don't have good or no cell service in their house but have Wi-Fi and good Internet. Or some people work in buildings that cell signals don't penetrate well.

I'm lucky that I get a good Verizon signal at my home and work... not everybody is that lucky.

I use Tracfone which provides me service thru Verizon. Does anyone know if I can use Pixel XL on their BYOB plan? Their website lets you plug in a ESN number to see if it will work on their system, but of course you have to have the phone to submit the ESN, so that's not really helpful.

So cool to see Matt. Hi matt. I no longer work in the industry but I keep a close ear to it. I bought both pixels.

Product Ambassadors rule!

I am a Product Ambassador for Sprint and can confirm that we are an activation partner for Pixel. Unlocked Pixel devices will work on the Sprint network with a Sprint SIM.

Is anyone using this on Sprint with their existing sim card?

When I was upgrading from my Moto X Pure to my current Nexus 6P, I ordered the recommended sim and was unable to activate online. I called into tech support and they were also unable to activate the new sim.

However, she was able to use my current Moto X Pure nano sim and activate the Nexus 6P.

I am tempted to order a new # CZ2144LWC / 019962040146 but am also hoping my current nano sim, originally from my Moto X Pure will work.

On a side note, does anyone know if a sim card degrades over time?

Good question. I wonder myself. Also, pls let me know of the outcome. Thanks.

So I tried to activate my Pixel XL and this is what I'm told:

Orphelia M.: I am very sorry to tell you that the device that we are activating is currently unavailable in our system or was not yet been added to our system. What you need o do is to go to one of our Stores to have it validated on our system. Also they can activate the device for you too once it is already validated to our system and network.

Thoughts??

What sim are you using? And try through the website, not over the phone.

I bought the XL from best buy "for Verizon" . They repeatedly told me it won't work on sprint bc it's not unlocked. Can someone please confirm they are wrong and I can get this activated at Sprint!

I thought they sell them unlocked too... They didn't have???

Not on the pixel. I read every phone made was unlocked but Verizon version came with preloaded Verizon crap. Can someone confirm?

To be clear Google store online sells them fully unlocked with nothing pre loaded. But Verizon and best buy or anyone else doesn't sell that version. The version they sell though I have read works on every network including sprint.

I thought I responded to this thread, but I think the site has been acting goofy for me...

I swapped my iPhone 7 to Google Pixel using my existing SIM card on Sprint using their online activation through my Sprint account. I did have an issue doing this through Chrome, so I switched over to Microsoft Edge, but after that it worked just fine.

I tried activating it on the site; the site won't accept it. I got kicked out to chat which provided me the message from Orphelia M.

I just got back from my Sprint Store where I was told they can't activated it because, in their system, it's showing as a "prepaid SKU".

So I guess I have a $1000 paperweight.

I can never get anything to work on Sprints website except for the landing page using Chrome. I always have to switch to MS Edge to do anything. I can't even look at my account info using Chrome.

Don't talk to anyone, do it urself. Take out either the last number of the imei or the first. Same issue as Moto X pure.

So the problem I was having was when I did the "Activate new device", it had the fields for the IMEI which you need to enter in twice, but when I tried to click "Check" nothing would happen. Then I tried continue, and it would say I could not activate the device at this time. When I switched to Edge, clicking "Check" after entering in the IMEI showed me the Google Pixel (even had an image of it) and allowed me to activate it just fine.

Exact same issue for me when I activated the Moto X pure. Had to use Microsoft Edge

I'm having a problem where the Web site says "Hmmm… this number doesn't match our records, please try again." regardless of whether i enter the whole IMEI or knock a digit off the front or back.
