Pixel XL vs. S8?

Then 128 is still more? Unless you have 64 + >= 64 and that + X isn't real storage, since it's extremely limited in what you can store there.

"Extremely limited" - you just mean I can't put apps there. But I can put pinned music from my three music services, downloaded movies from Google Play Movies and Plex, and my pictures and videos are stored there by default.

And even then....I can move quite a few of my apps over to the SD card. :) Just can't be set as the default location for new app installs.

Lol I have 320GB of storage and it feels pretty real to me. I have 20GB of music and another 30GB of video and they all play perfectly......

S8+ base model with 64GB and 256GB SD card.
Nice to have options.....

This is proving the 'be together not the same' adage.

Pixel XL = no lag, MUCH FASTER UPDATES, much better FPS location, Pure Android, Does fit in my Genesis phone holder. Meh hardware

S8+ = lag, drop frame rates, who knows when it will get security or Android updates, FPS location is dumb, Does NOT fit in my Genesis phone holder. Beautiful hardware

lol

Pixel = unavailable

To me the biggest reason I like the pixel more is that ok Google works all the time. It does not with the Galaxy. And the unlimited hi-res photo backup. But I'm currently using an S8+.

Get a new phone holder

S8+ has an updated processor, new Bluetooth, great camera, good build quality and a 1% larger battery.

The Pixel XL offers much better performance, a better camera (although the S8's isn't bad either) and battery life is rather good.

Yeah, what the hell is up with OK Google not working properly on the S8+? I don't use it a lot, but when I try to use it, it's a bit aggravating.

I've got both devices, the s8 plus and the Pixel XL (and a regular pixel and an s7e). I'm currently trying to decide which phone to keep and which to sell. Keep in mind I bought the Pixel XL used (mint) for $550 vs. the s8+ $850 plus tax and $30 upgrade fee. So far I've concluded:

I am more confident using the camera on the XL. Not sure why, because the s8 is great, but that's the way it is.
The XL has a snappier response rate. But we are talking small fractions of a second here.
The XL vs s8+ screen size when watching videos is a wash. I've held them next to each other and unless you crop the video on the s8, the videos are the same size.
Both have trash speakers.
I really like wireless charging.
Touchwiz UI is much improved. But still gimmicky.
The edge panel functionality is more useful than I thought.
The screen on the s8 is friggin unreal. Un-friggin-real.
Always on display is very useful.
My work stuff is better on the s8. I like Samsung's email app better than having to use g-mail for work email.
The s8+ loads webpages faster than the Pixel. Noticeably faster.
The s8 is sexy looking. The pixel is meh.
The lack of a good screen protector for the s8+ is really pissing me off. I feel like I have to baby the phone whereas I can toss the Pixel around in it's case without much worry.
I still dont trust Samsung's UI - I think it might get really janky in a few months. I hate jank.
The wifi signal on the s8 is better than the Pixel.
Did I mention the s8 is sexy as hell?

So I'm currently leaning towards keeping the Pixel, mostly due to cost. Plus I could use my upgrade later down the road for maybe the Note 8 or Pixel 2. If the cost were the same - S8 plus ALL DAY. But that isn't my situation.

Pixel is available all the time. E-bay? Swappa? Tons on there for 30% lower than MSRP. DO your research.

Yeah that's NO excuse for a manufacturer to not have stock available. Not everyone wants to deal with third party sellers.

Can you imagine if Samsung told their customers, Hey we can't be bothered to keep our phones in stock, so do your damn research and go to eBay!

Nope, not all the time. It was on my short list and was not available. How many people went to another phone because if their inconsistencies?

Bought a G6 instead.

For the average person not stalking a site or using a instock alert system finding a XL has been nearly impossible and getting a 128gb... Forget about it.

I bought one from Google Oct 4th, Jan 22, Mar 4, Mar 5 and 4 from Best Buy on Nov 24. Best Buy seems to have stopped carrying them since then.
