Pixels display is better than Samsungs Amoleds.

I love my Pixel XL and hate Samsung software but having owned recently S7 edge, Note 7 I disagree. While indoors both are good, if you take it outdoors and under direct sunlight Samsung flagship phone screens are much brighter and easier to read. Overall I think Samsung flagship phones screens are still better than Pixel.

But Pixel is overall a better phone 😀

Could you give me some ways the Pixel is better than the Note 7 or S7 Edge? I still have my Note, but am weighing options since one day I may have to give it up.

I have the Pixel XL. The display is NOT better than my Note 7. The Pixel's display is very good. The Note 7's was the best I have ever seen.

What's the point of kicking the Note 7 when it's dead? People trying to rationalize their Pixel purchases? Closet iPhoners!!

The Note 7 and Pixel are equal in one regard- both have weak LTE reception compared to other current devices. Dang, I kicked it too. I'm not a closet iPhoner though. Realz.

I just never understand the arguing of what's better to other ppl vs just saying something is better to u

Sorry, but nothing can top Samsung's displays right now. Best in the business. Edge screen is also a major plus.
Lol

Why are Samsung users so adamant about getting everybody to agree what they think are important or the best is true...

It's not always "hate" some ppl honestly just don't agree or simply prefer something else

Because Displaymate and other websites have consistently said that Samsung's displays are the best in the market. And if Samsung made Pixel's display, it doesn't really count, does it?

Lol Websites have also stated HTC 10 camera is better or same level as the s7 AND pixel has the best Android camera this year yet ppl argue the s7 camera is the best... So websites are only credible if they say Samsung are the best?

They have a better aoftware and thats it. Name something else.

And really pixels software is just bare bones stock so it's nothing to it.

From Phonearena:
Pixel XL / Note 7
DISPLAY
Physical size 5.5 inches / 5.7 inches
Resolution 1440 x 2560 pixels / 1440 x 2560 pixels
Pixel density 534 ppi / 518 ppi
Technology AMOLED / Super AMOLED
Screen-to-body ratio 71.22 % / 80.94 %

The XL appears to have a slightly newer (and thus slightly higher pixel density) display. About the same as the S7 Edge if someone has one of those to compare with.
New or not has nothing to do with pixel density. Assuming the same vertical and horizontal pixels , the smaller display will have the higher pixel density.

Having compared the two I can categorically say the pixels display is superior.

It's colours are more natural but the main reason is that there is no gap between the glass and display. It makes for gorgeous viewing from all angles.

Galaxy's Amoled in contrast has a sizeable gap, probably about a millimeter between glass and display.

It shows.

Thank you for sharing your opinion.

Yeah, it's odd seeing such misinformation on a site like this. You'd think everyone understood what those specifications meant.

Pixel has sRGB mode which can be enabled on the fly for truly accurate color reproduction. Kind of like Samsung's "basic" mode but instead it actually adheres to a standard.

Android Central caters to all people, even novices who might not understand some basic concepts. At the same time, when I try to politely correct people when they say something incorrectly so that they can learn in the future. Likewise when I post something incorrectly, I appreciate it when someone politely corrects me .

Oh I wasn't trying to be malicious, that statement was just made so authoritatively is all. I'm sorry.

Pixel density can really just be thought of as number of pixels in a square inch area.

Density = Screen Resolution/Screen Area.

So if resolution is increased, Pixel density increases. Likewise if screen is decreased, Pixel density increases.

I'm just laughing at the OP....you know Samsung made the pixels display right...and Samsung always calibrate their displays better on Samsung phones...the pixels amoled display is cheaply pasted on and trust me you cannot beat the note 7, S7, or S7 edge displays by any merit and there are several modes to change the color tones to be natural on these devices .....

Enjoy your basic phone with no features....

Exactly, the pixel has an Oled Samsung screen, no way Samsung is going to make a better screen for the pixel than they make for their flagships
If you compare specs
The pixel 2560x1440 amoled
Note 7 2560x1440 SUPER amoled
Note 7 HDR capabilities with
HDR up scaling for all videos
There's no way the pixel can be better
