Pixels display is superior to Galaxy's Amoleds

Having compared the two I can categorically say the pixels display is superior.

It's colours are more natural but the main reason is that there is no gap between the glass and display. It makes for gorgeous viewing from all angles.

Samsungs Amoled in contrast has a sizeable gap, probably about a millimeter between glass and display.

It shows.

The Samsung Galaxy phones have a number of different display settings that can be adjusted including the color. Tests have shown that the "basic" setting for color on the Galaxy phones gave perfect color reproduction. (See DisplayMate's website for details). Does the Pxiels have display adjustment settings, or are you stuck with what Google deemed appropriate? I recommend you look into display settings and learn how to configure each screen optimally before you go declaring one screen better than another.

I'm gonna be 60 next month.... I sure will never see the difference between great and slightly greater. 😉

😆

Yes, I've figured that out a long time ago. I had this phone a few months.

Hard to take that someone else makes something better? 😀

Go and see for yourself.

Not just that, the Pixel feels good in the hand and will most likely be sturdier.

I still prefer the edge look but it's not for practical reasons.

Some really bright sparks on here 😆

Just as there are different tv's that use same manufacturers panels doesn't mean they display the same. You find LG panels in several brands, just one example. The 'engine' ie. Control software is often very different.

Still, if some of you believe that only your current phone has the 'best' display ... 😅

Because color accuracy is a subjective thing. Some people like the punchier colors better. Well actually 'most' people like it better if we believe the blind tests conducted by various review sites. If your only category for liking the Pixel over the Galaxy is color reproduction accuracy, you're sure to find people who both agree and disagree.

The Pixel's screen has a lower resolution than that of the Galaxy as well.

Excuse me? It's an OLED display silly pants, meaning who cares which one is better. They are excellent screens by default. So you think the Pixel has a better display. That's great for you, I hope you enjoy it.

I played with a Pixel and thought the display was good, but not as good as either the Note 7 or the S7 Edge. Personal opinion.

This thread should've been posted in the Pixel section. Not sure what the point of posting this here was.

I have read opposing statements. At this point it seems that the acceptance of the Pixel is about 50/50. I will have to use one to see if I like the phone.
