Pixle 4 + Black Friday

If you know anything about Pixel phone buying it's that if you buy early you're gonna pay more. That's why many people here have said that they are waiting for BF this year. Dial up the drama more though!

Exactly. I'm perfectly content using my P2xl another month to not pay top dollar on the 4xl that I want. In my eyes, the P4xl was never a $900 phone...it's a $600-700 phone that releases on Black Friday.

That's a good way to put it.

I think all of us at AC should take a pledge NOT to pre-order, or buy, Pixels before Black Friday. That'll show'm -

You are making my point. Google doesn't give a **** about it's loyal base. People pre order phones because they are excited, because they want a pixel.

Companies like Google should make sure they are not screwed over. If they have plans to drop the price $200 dollars just 3 weeks after the release, why not reward loyal customers with pixel phones by giving them $465 for their pixel trade in vs $265. Or why not give pre orders $200 off or $150 off? There are other things that could be done to make your loyals happy. Samsung does that ALL the time. Like a Whopping $600 trade in for pixel 3 XL and a $200 credit to use at Samsung website. Now that's what I call rewarding folks for pre ordering.

I loved the camera on my Pixel 3 XL before I traded it for note 10+. But it's stuff like this from Google that makes me think twice before going back to pixel phones.

So now companies have to placate people with no impulse control? FFS they're adults, they should be able to take responsibility for their own actions. Especially as I pointed out but it apparently didn't register with you, that a sale was coming. Everyone knew it, there are threads in these forums to that effect and it was discussed ad nauseum up to, during, and after the phone launched. Most every article on the tech blogs referenced it, so it's not like they didn't know it was coming. It'd be different if they launched in August and then had a sale a month later, but it launched almost a month before BF and 2 months before Xmas.

Plenty of people waited to see what deals retailers were going to have for these devices. If these companies give them discounts because they jumped on the higher prices at launch, isn't that just as unfair for people who exercised self control?

Actually Samsung gave 600 trade for the smaller Pixel 3 towards unlocked models as well

.... And that's why they are called black Friday deals.

OEMs regularly seem to give more on trade for other OEM's devices. It makes sense, they want to get more people using their products and stealing customers from other companies is a great way to do that. But for some it smacks of not being fair to their loyal customers. What people need to understand is that loyalty with a company is 9 times out of 10 a one way street.

No disagreement from me. I was just clarifying someone else's post.

I think Google store is the 1st to offer BF deals - on the 24th.
Might be a good idea to start checking your vendor of choice around that time, just sayin'...

BB will do price match once the Google store sale goes live.
