Plan to get the Pixel 3 / 3 XL?

No need. My 2 XL is awesome. I don't see the 3 XL bringing a whole lot more to the table except wireless charging and the jaw-droppingly ugly notch.

While there are always those that get enamored with shiny new toys.

The bigger question is: who still has an original pixel or xl, and STILL don't feel the need to update.

My XL is still the best phone I have had and still runs as good as day one. Any other phone (ios or android) that I have had or seen, starts to go to pot by year 2. Requiring wipes, new batteries or other "maintenance".

Not this thing.

I think I will spend my 800 (or more) on a new set of clubs or some other new toy, and continue to enjoy one of the best phones in the market

I keep telling myself that I'll be fine with my 2 XL, but I know that once the new 3 XL gets announced I'll probably end up ordering it.

I am not upgrading to the Pixel 3. I'm still loving my four-month-old Pixel 2; and I do not see enough of a difference in specs/phone appeal to consider upgrading. Plus, I spent $1000+ on my Pixel 2 - my wallet needs time to recover before I spend just as much, if not more, on a "newer" flagship.

I am, however, very interested in seeing what the "smaller" Pixel 3 will be like. The Pixel line is awesome!

Nope. Not all that interested in moving on from the Pixel 2. I'm still happy with the phone and have over 17 months left on the 2 year warranty.

When I got the P2, I told myself with the extra year of warranty and guaranteed three years of updates, I would keep this one for minimum of 2 years, possibly 3. It's still in pristine condition and working great so I don't think I'll be breaking that promise to myself.

Knowing me I will. I really want the LTE watch more then the phone.

TBH this Pixel 2 XL (got on launch) is the longest I have had a phone. Almost a full year. Before I couldn't go 2-3 months. Maybe I am just getting old? :P.

I am the same first phone I kept over 3 month to lol and I had it since day 1.
The notch is not a deal breaker because I can hide it and and I was a fan the v10 and v20 so if can make it similar to that I'm cool with it but I don't feel like its a crazy update to make. Me spend another 1200 . So really still up In the air. I guess the deciding factor will be how much ram it has I feel my pixel is sluggish sometimes.

There are all different grades of "plastics". Unfortunately the word "plastic" has attained a less than quality reputation. NASA uses very high grade "plastics" in spacecraft where quality is paramount. Very high grade plastics are used to make piano parts in very high end pianos because of how well it stands up to percussive movement. And of course cheap "plastics" are used to make cheap children's toys.

If Google will give me $400 to trade in my 2xl, and TMobile gives another $325 to being the Pixel to their network, then I probably will. My 2xl still runs like the day i took it out of the box, but if i can get the 3 for $300 I'll definitely pick it up.

Same here.... Not sure if we get wireless charging and a watch I might jump. If not I will pick up a note 9 after the price drops.

Kate and I went with Google Fi when I got the 2 XL and she inherited my Nexus 6.
The Nexus 6 battery is starting to fail after all these years.
So it's definite that she is inheriting my Pixel 2 XL and I'm getting the 3 XL.
Case closed! :)

I'm in the same boat. My wife has a Motorola Nexus 6 and her battery is going bad. When it reaches 20% remaining it drops to 0% in 2 min. I'm buying the Pixel 3 XL and giver her my Pixel 2 XL.

Still just thinking about. Depends on the actual size of the Pixel 3 XL is. The Pixel 2 XL is my max on physical size is far as overall size of the phone.
Starting to look like the XL may not work out for me. If that's the case may consider the regular Pixel 3 depending on its stats compared to the XL.
Worse case I just wait til next year, and skip the Pixel 3/ Pixel 3 XL upgrade.

The Pixel(sailfish) and the Pixel 2 XL (Panda) will hold me over til the Pixel 4 ,if I don't update this year.
If I don't update this year it will be the first time I skipped updating phones for the entire year.
Always updated at least once a year since 2010 :), will wait and see where it goes ha

No plans to upgrade, battery, camera(Especially the camera) new OS (P), everything is still great. The 3 isn't going to offer me anything I need...

I would more likely buy a discounted P2 for my wife than a P3.
