Hi Everyone, New poster so go gentle.

I'm not a complete novice but I got a new Experia Z Tablet this morning and I'm ready to throw it out of the window in a minute. I have been on android for a long time with the same email. Gmail address. I received my new tablet this morning. Turned it on and after setting up logged in with my email that have used for years and am currently using on a HTC one but I'm getting the 403 error whenever try to download an app or even re populate the tablet with the same apps I have on my phone. I've researched lots and tried the deleting cash and stop services etc. Still no joy. I've factory reset tablet. Kept on wifi and tried again. Still the same. I've made a new Gmail account. Tried again. Still the same. I'm at a loss to what to do. If even after making a new Google log in etc it won't work where do I go now. I don't want multiple accounts I just want to have the same account across my phone and tablet. Oh and it's the lte version by the way. I've tried not entering any mobile network details and using only wifi at first and it doesn't work. Then I tried not using wifi but only using the mobile network and still the same. Also the is no proxy setting in mine to delete. Please help!! All the threads I have found have been no use. I don't mind factory resetting again as I've got nothing on here anyway as I can't download any apps. With any account. Old or new. Hope you guys can help. Regards Chris.

This should have been covered with the factory reset, but try resetting app preferences in Settings>Apps>menu>reset app preferences. Sometimes this helps with Play issues.

Hi mate, really appreciate your input. I have gone into settings apps this gives me the list of downloaded or running. Selected all apps. Found the play Store. There is clear cash and etc but no app preferences? I have done all that also. Cleared cash. Rebooted still the same. On any email I enter. Should I be on lte or wifi?

I Have the exact same problem with my new Sony Xperia Z phone. Driving me insane. I Have tried everything else but clearing the cache and dalvik cache in recovery mode as this phone doesnt support it in stock...

I really don't know What to do. The whole thing is useless to me. Can't download Iplayer, can't watch flash yet. Any apps noting. It's a brick. What I can't believe is I made a whole new account and that still didn't work.

I wish I could help you but I am afraid I too have this very issue with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition which I bought a few hours ago from John Lewis. It is driving me mad because I have also done every thing that you have tried. In the end I gave up and phoned John Lewis Technical Support. Once I gave him error 403 he told me that this is a known issue and they feel that it is a faulty batch of devices. He gave me a reference number and told me to take the device back to the store for a refund. He did not recommend a replacement because it was likely that all devices at my store would have come from the same faulty batch! So, tomorrow I shall return my device for refund.

I am very unhappy because I was very pleased with how the device performed until I wanted to add an app. and could not. Like you, I feel the device is useless if I cannot download anything.

You only need to be on the main list and hit menu.

Hi Mate, I really can't believe it's a problem with our hardware. I have the feeling it is a problem with Google. At the risk of sounding funny I think Mr John Lewis was probably reading a script and doesn't really know what's going on. I've found people with nexus units with this issue from today. I have a Sony and you have a Samsung. I'd keep yours for a fee days and speak to Google. I'll be calling them tommrrow.

Hi Everyone. I have just spoken to Google tech support and they have a known issue with the play store for the last 8-10 hours. They have said it would result in almost everyone getting this error from play store. They said they need 12-24 hours to fix it. Keep trying and rebooting and hopefully by tommrrow it will be sorted. just ironic that it's on the day we bought knew units. So don't take it back mate.! Hold fire.!!
