Play Store Movies

When you buy movies, do they save to your phone or tablet? I am new to Android and am used to converting dvds when I had my Playbook.

I'm guessing that they'll stay in the Play Store (where you can just stream them whenever you want) unless you specify that you want them downloaded to your device. Even if you download them to your device, I'm pretty sure they're all DRM protected.
Of course, you should still be able to rip DVDs and put them on your phone to play.
