I have an S10+, all firmware up-to-date. I have 75gb data allowance and a download speed of between 60 and 100megs, courtesy of EE. I have had the phone for a few weeks and all was fine. Then I noticed that when updating apps from the play store the downloads progressed in 3-4 meg chunks where as they had been updating in 20-30 meg chunks. I checked the speed with a speed checker and was only getting 5-10 megs. I cleared cache, data and deleted a couple of recent apps but no change. Yes I rebooted, turned on and off and no change. I downloaded another speed checker and it showed between 60 and 100 megs, depending on time of day. I tried using the phone as a hotspot for my pc and got 55 megs. The play store is still slow. I have 150meg Zen broadband and get the full 150 when I run the phone on wifi.

I know I can use wifi at home but the play store will still be slow when I am away from home. Not a problem at the moment but I hope that lockdown will, eventually be listed.

My first post so apologies for errors, lack of etiquette, etc.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It could well be network congestion causing mobile data to be slow. Try at different points during the day and see if there's a difference. If not, a local tower may be "down" and causing the issues

I had a problem also with play store with slow downloads and also updates that would not download.

You can try downloading the app "download detector" it will tell you if people have been reporting problems with the app store.

Ok. Just a few things. 100Mb on EE. That is brilliant. And 150Mb on Zen. I am jealous. So jealous. My Zen is around 60Mb and that is the fastest I can get.

Not sure why the Play Store is running so slowly. Maybe you could do as Mustang said and clear cache and data settings-apps-Google Play Store- storage

There is no difference during the day when using the play store on mobile data, it's very slow. There is no issue at any time when using wifi.

Maybe your cellular provider selectively throttles traffic such as that going to/from Google Play to prevent you from congesting the network with large downloads. Try using a good VPN and select a fast server near you and see if that fixes it.

Problem has cleared. It was not EE and I am sure that it was the Play store. As the play store is no longer treated as an app there are no notifications as to when it gats updated.
