Went to local Best Buy today and the guy at the Google booth had black XL that he let me play with for a good 15 minutes.

Quick thoughts: 1.The black looks really nice, like really nice!
2. A feature I haven't seen in videos, double tap the power button opens camera app imcredibly qyickly even with a locked phone. Makes my Note5 camera look slow.
3. He had the 32gb version with 21gb available, but he had quite a few photos and store demo software on it, I'd expect 23gb available out of the box.
4. It had pre-production software and Assistant was not fully functional on it.
5. Swiping down on the fingerprint sensor to bring down notification bar worked perfectly and I'm already in love with this feature.
6. It is very light, and much more comfortable in hand than my note5
7. Sweet lord it is fast and smooth in comparison to my phone AND more importantly my wife's S7 edge (snapdragon 820)
8. Snapped a couple of pics, under the fluorescent lighting and compared then to same pics with Note5.......PIXEL LOOKS BETTER!.
9. Size wise, it is just a pinch smaller than Note5, screen looks definitely better.
10. He was also carrying a 5x, there is obviously not comparison,in terms if screen and performance

That's what I can think of off the top of my head, topping this in Best Buy parking lot. Lol

That's awesome! Thank you for sharing. I didn't know about the double press for the camera, but it's a huge bonus for me. I use that function almost every day with my S7 Edge.

I didn't know about the double tap function neither. I saw a video a few days ago highlighting the swiping down feature. I'm in a toss up between this and the V20. Think I might go Pixel XL.

Same decision for me. Battery life will be better on the Pixel but V20 is swappable. Screen will def be better on the XL, but the 2nd screen on the LG is enticing. I'm thinking about getting the XL as I don't think the LG is going to sell well and is going to lab behind for updates, but who knows.

Glad you liked it. By the way, my Nexus 5 also has the double-tap the power button and it opens the camera. Not as quick as the Pixel I imagine, but it serves me really well and once you get used to it, it's hard not to have the feature.

Yeah, I can't say if it is worth the price lol, but it is a nice phone.

I wish you had checked the screen on time and tried out the 4K video recording. The supposed lack of 4K video stabilization is a concern for me.

I was wondering if you played with the V20 too? I went to ATT this morning and played with the V20 and the screen looked fantastic.

I'm pretty sure that the double-tap for camera was standard as of Marshmallow OS.

They didn't have a V20, or I would have. I'm very curious how it looks.

I've never had a phone with video stabilization in 4k so I didn't think of it. Unless the note5 has it and I am unaware. My4k videos don't look stabilized, so I rarely shoot in it.

The Note 5 does thanks to OIS. Remember the video Google showed at their presentation comparing side by side Pixel footage with electronic image stabilization off and electronic stabilization on? Well, 4K video will look like the left side if the rumors are true.

If you look again you will see that the note 5 turns off video stabilization at anything above 1920*1080...I just checked, unless I'm mistaken about what OIS is.
