Okay so I went to Staples and there I saw the Motorola Xoom! I like Honeycomb and wanted to take the Xoom with me. It felt great in the hand, and I loved the hardware. I was about to buy one but there was one thing that stopped me, the screen! I hated the screen on the Xoom. I couldn't see anything. I had the brightness all the way up and changed the wallpapers to see if they helped but nothing did. I liked the device but the screen is what stopped me from purchasing it. I guess I will still wait for the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

I have my screen at the minimum to save battery and I have no viewing issues. I prefer it low its better on the eyes for long use too. In sun like my x its hard to see but owell.

It might have still been on auto. The screen is really good.

who knows how much finger oil was on that screen also.
Auto brightness is way too dark for me. I have mine set to around 90% and it is bright and clear in any condition, even outdoors.

By default the brightness is extremely low. The screen also has a good amount of glare and reflection. SGP and BoxWave each make an anti glare screen protector.

I find the screen to be decent, it is clear and bright in most situations but I do have a brightness slider widget on my home screen for easy changes.

I would think at this point its awesome but can see how an AMOLED type if screen can really rock on a tablet eventually.

That's it! When you enter Staples the Xoom is right there so the light is hitting the screen causing a glare. Would the Galaxy Tab 10.1 have that same problem?

Since the rumor is that the galaxy tab will be using gorilla glass, I think there will be glare problems too, unless Samsung treats the glass with some magic anti-glare coating.

I wish all manufacturers start using an anti glare coating on their devices. It has got me very interested in the Samsung Galaxy II. As manufacturers continue in the processor and display arms race, someone will eventually look at usability and realize it is what we need on these high density screens. I have very little issues with glare indoors, but forget about using the xoom outside on a sunny day.

The screen is not the brightest but, it's not low enough to bother me.

Yes it would - that's why manufacturer's are pumping out Anti-Glare SunBlock screen protectors.

I have my Xoom set to 75% brightness -- it's bold & vivid. I use the auto brightness only after 11pm - otherwise it's a 10 inch flashlight! :)

Yeah my screen is very bright also. I NEVER have to turn it up all the way. And if there is bright outdoor light coming in, anti-glare screen protectors do help too.

My 4 year old kid changed the brightness, put it at 100%, and when i was in bed later at night my eyes were hurting. i usually have it between 50-70% when i am indoors and 100% when i am outdoors.
That being said the other screens are nicer, more vivid colors and pure blacks. But bottom line, you should choose a tablet for its build quality. That is where the XOOM exceeds compared to the others which are made more out of plastic.
