Hi,

Yesterday I decided to flash cyanogenmod 10.2 (stable) to my Nexus 4, with it's 4.3 Gapps. Before flashing, I had stock 4.4 KRT16S with a flashed radio zip from [ROM] [KitKat][KRT16S] Nexus 4 4.4 stock (deodexed, rooted, busybox) - xda-developers.
I flashed cyanogenmod 10.2 and the Gapps succesfully, but I couldn't toggle WiFi on and had some other problems. I found that those problems were caused by the new radio.img so I downloaded the older radio.img from djodjo.org - Nexus 4 (occam) factory images ('radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.84.img' beneath 'occam-jwr66y'). After downloading, I flashed the radio.img with Nexus Root Toolkit by Wugfresh but I got stuck in a bootloop on the cyanogenmod screen. After several factory resets and deleted caches, I thought it'd probably be the radio I had flashed, so I went back to Nexus Root Toolkit and tried 'Flash Stock + Unroot'. I had downloaded the factory image of 4.3 JWR66Y from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images, and it didn't work. Then I enabled Force Flash and I can see the 4.3 bootlogo on my Nexus 4, so I know that it's running Android 4.3. I, however, don't get to see more than the bootlogo since it is still in a bootloop.

I have no idea what to do, fortunately I did make a nandroid before flashing cyanogenmod. Can anyone please provide me with the right files and/or steps to get out of this mess?!

Thanks in advance,
Brian

When you flash a different rom or go from one Android version to the next, the recommended thing is to do factory reset and wipe system partion. (using custom recovery, not stock so it won't wipe your internal storage, which already is when you flashed factory image). Then flash the rom again it should work. If the rom file isn't on your phone, enable sideload feature in CWM and type: adb sideload cm11.zip

The radio from your link is outdated. Flash the one from the lastest android factory image regardless of your Android version.

I would have the NRT take it back to the stock ROM. Once that's back and working then try CM again.

Hi,

I got it working after reflashing cm10.2 with the gapps, and using the 'clear cache' option that was provided after flashing (I'm using TWRP) together with a factory reset.
Should I flash the newer radio and risk getting my device into the mess I just got out of, or can I just work with my .84 radio?

Thanks for your help guys,
Brian

You can use which ever radio, but generally the latest radio version tends to have the latest fixes to make sure you get the best signal and battery life. It's not always true. Also if you are on stock, you need to have the latest radio to apply OTA updates.

If you do factory reset, it will wipe cache too so don't have to wipe clear again.
