Here is the situation I have a rooted incredible running the skyraider 3.5 sense rom and whatever kernel came with it. i dropped the phone in a puddle the other day and instead of doing the insurance replacement i just used my upgrade to get the thunderbolt.
the phone has been working fine once it dried out and there have been no problems. But now when i go to boot up the phone it just gets stuck at the white incredible screen when it first boots up and wont move from there at all, I can however get into the boot loader and recovery. But everytime i go to do a factory reset or restore from a backup or flash a new rom i get an error that something can't be mounted and thats it. Is there a way to fix this? I have access to both windows and mac so if its something that only works on one of those platforms its not a problem. Any help would be appreciated. i am also attaching a picture of the screen i get when the error pops up

Take out the SD-card and burry the phone in a Tupperware container of rice for a few days. There may still be some moisture that needs to be dried out.

After a few days, re-install the SD-Card and try to reinstall a new ROM in the standard way.

Good Luck!

EDIT: Use uncooked plain white rice. Don't cook it! ;)

Does the SD card work outside the phone? I mean if it's plugged into a reader can you access it on the computer? It maybe what isn't mounting.

i am going to give the rice trick a try today. SD card works fine outside of the phone i was actually using it in my new thunderbolt for a few days while i was copying stuff over to the new card that came with the thunderbolt. i will let you guys know what happens, hopefully i can get this thing working so that i can sell it and get some money out of it to try to cover the cost of buying this beast of i phone i have now. thanks everyone for your help

be sure to tell whoever u plan to sell it to that you dropped it in a puddle....if not thats pretty sleazy.

When you boot into recovery you may have to mount the SD card. Mine does that every now and then.

i have tried mounting the sd card also and it doesn't help at all, i have also tried to wipe the battery stats and the dalvick cache and when i try to do either i still get an error. Is there any software out there that i can use to reflash the whole phone back to factory, just assuming that everything on the root of the phone is gone so that i can get this thing back up and running

ok so i tried the unrooting method and i've gotten further than i have i get it to half way boot up now. I get the "droid" Noise when it boots then the i guess you can call it the droid eye, then it re-cycles and starts again, but instead of going to the white htc incredible screen it goes to the htc quietly brilliant screen is there anything else i can that can be done or am i pretty much SOL at this point
