Please Help!!! What happened to my Marketplace?

200 apps!?! Holy hell!

Sounds to me like market freaked out on you. Did you install Clockwork Recovery by any chance? Getting to recovery would be a mighty fine idea ATM. If not maybe one of the fellas can push it to you.

I have a feeling data wipe may be coming... but we'll steer clear of that for now.

OK i may have found a way. You'll have to uninstall the Market app you have now and download it again reinstall it. You will have to download several apps to get this to work since you do not have a working market.

go to applanet.net from your thunderbolt. it will pop up "save as" click ok once it downloads click it and select install. Then once it installs click open and search Astro file manager and install it.

Finally head over to NEW 2.3.6 MARKET apk!!!! - xda-developers and download that apk file and put it on the root of your sd card.

unplug phone from pc and open astro file manager and find the com.android.vending-2.3.6.apk click it and click open app manager then click install.

Good work Patriots.

I'd like to throw in:

Download Titanium Manager once you get everything working. This will back up apps/some data. I use it just for apps. If you ever flash anything, use this to back up your apps before you open market because if you go to market first it'll try and restore what you had and I think you just made it blow a gasket because it was trying to download and restore so much all at once.

Live and learn my friend.

Hey DJ man am i not good at this android stuff yet. If he cant get market to work what can he do? Its never happened to me so i have never been there.

Ok this isn't fun anymore. Ive been struggling with this all night.......

Just try and follow my steps for now and see where it leads you. I think this is way to do this before flashing a rom which could be read about when your not freaking out about the market not working. I will wait for you to try what i posted. If you run into an issue stop and post it here.

Sorry for sounding like a complete noob but how do I install it on the root of my sd card? And how do I uninstall Market? I thought I would be better at this.

I'm really scratching my head here, but I can only think of two solutions so far. LOL this would be so much easier if I just had your phone in my hand and I could fool around with it.

1)You don't mess with the market right now. Instead, you attempt to go back to UNROOTED following whatever guide you'd like. Cory's is really good. From there, use Titanium to backup all of your apps so you don't have to rely on Market to do it. Then ROOT again, then use Titanium to restore everything. And hopefully once thats all cleared up market should work just fine. [Something may have just goofed up during your rooting process. I did mine the manual way so your procedure was different so I can't go into anything there].

2)If you really want to try, we can wipe all of your data/dalvik/cache through CWR and try again. I'm not sure you want to do this though because that would be like a fresh wipe of everything and would be like you just got your phone for the first time... :(

I've also never heard of this error. You snagged the phone up in a weird spot.

It is VERY late at night so hopefully someone with more knowledge can lend a hand during daylight hours :)

[this is the best I can do off the top of my head]

Blazed... it will download into your sdcard/download folder. It doesn't necessarily have to go into the root of your sdcard as long as you can point to it.

Well DJ your right data/dalvik/cache through CWR would be a good option since he just rooted so i dont think there is much since he could not install to many apps.

While being true, I dunno if it'll uncluster#($! the market error he is getting. I'd save it as a last resort for now.

I'm still trying to figure out how to uninstall marketplace

Well if you are rooted and have a root explorer, or Super Manager you could take care of it. Try to find the APK somewhere on the interwebz. Sorry if my responses are short I'm at work :p

I rooted but I didn't download an additional root explorer so I guess that means Im SOL

Wow i didn't remember that market cannot be removed from the settings. If you have either of those 2 apps mentioned by DJ you can get to it and remove it that way.

heck yea that one doesn't like being moved.

Blhazed we'll get it solved man hang in there ;)

Hang in there is right. I just about threw my phone out the window. Anyways, that link takes me to megashare site and it asks me to download megashare premium or megashare basic. I dont see anything about supermanager. Is this correct?
