PLease tell me if this is acceptable battery life

I think that when we report battery life results on here, our ideas of usage patterns vary enough to make our comments left to interpretation only. Therefore I propose that when we state that we get this or that on light, moderate or heavy use, that we also include our average monthly data usage over 3 or 4G and specify which it is, so that the rest of us can properly gage what kind of user we are verses someone else stating 60hrs. It's only fair. I'll start by saying I average 15gb a month on 4G and challenge all of you to state your usage this way instead of saying low, medium, high or extreme. What do those terms mean to us without real usage numbers anyway. While I get only 24 hrs out of mine at 15GB a month, a person only averaging 1GB a month is obviously using their device way less than I am and therefore would indicate to us that your idling while mine is hard at work. I’d like to know that as part of knowing someone is achieving 60hrs from theirs making me feel like there’s something wrong with mine. If they happen to be getting those results while using it as much as me, then I will know that there could be something wrong with mine and I'll need to check into it further. So let’s be honest people, and disclose these things to keep these reports fair and balanced shall we.

I may not be understanding something,so fill me in if I'm wrong.

I don't see how data used per month impacts how we report a battery cycle. While I see how being on 3g or 4g impacts the hours on a cycle I don't see how the data per month affects it.
The numbers being posted are the percentages and hours for one charge on the battery, not the entire months numbers.
Every cycle is going to be different based on what you did on that cycle.
One cycle could entail little use and show many hours of up time, while another cycle can entail heavy use thus showing lower hours. Monthly use wouldn't have anything to do with either of them.

I don't care what kind of phone you use, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence. Sent using tapatalk 2.

Ok, I purposely ran mine down to 10% over the weekend and here are my numbers so lets compare here.

I made it 1d 3h 37m 32s. Pretty average for me.

I'm sure your right about the individual cycles. I understand. I was just trying to figure out if you use your phone less than i do in general. I figured knowing your average usage pattern could help me see that. If I use 15gb a month and you 1gb, I'm obviously using mine way more than you on any given cycle correct? Nevermind, just got tired of seeing people, inculding myself, use terms like 'average usage'. Well what does that mean really? Your idea of average is different than mine and I was just trying to find an equal base line. Sorry to bother you with it.

It's never a bother trying to find common ground or a system to help things be explained on a more logical or equal basis.
As for my personal data usage and usage patterns it varies greatly from month to month and day to day.
Am I home and able to use wifi, watch TV,listen to the stereo and just use my phone to surf the web, or am I out and about with no wifi and using it for entertainment and navigation too.

I have used 5gb per month up to 13.5gb per month, it varries.

Understood and thank you for sharing. Even though I really enjoy the life my battery has, especially compared to most every other device out there, it’s just a bit of a letdown to hear about someone getting 60hrs if they are using it as much as I am. Can you sense the Jealousy? If I can't get it to go beyond 24 does that mean I have a bad unit or battery? Or can the rest of us do something different to get your kind of results? Also wondering if potential new owners of the Maxx will expect your results only to be let down later. Expectations run high for the Maxx. Not saying you shouldn't post those results because you absolutely should. Just trying to make sense of them, that’s all. Thank you for this discussion. It may not be very interesting to many others on here, but it has been for me and I appreciate the insight. Also noticed how many different devices you have listed in your title. Is this Maxx you are using Rooted and have a certain Rom in it? If it is rooted, that explains everything because you are then removing or freezing the bloatware that is normally running in the back ground on a phone that is Stock, like mine. I think on this next charge, I might try dropping it back down to 3G and removing the live wallpaper I've been using. See if there is anything else in there I can squeeze some juice out of. In reality, I don't need 50-60 hrs, just curious:)

Looks good. I can get about 40 hours with "average" use... Again, hard to define if my average is yours, but a few photos, some texts, some HD recorded vids, average phones calls, FB app, emails turned off and randomly checking those, I get a good 35-40 hours... Thats with 15% drain while it sits overnight...

I can get to a couple hours over 24 during a workday because I don't use it that much and have data turned off, etc. Over the weekend, I was it on a lot, display was on over 5 hours, and I got slightly over 13 hours. It's usually on 3g too. So it definitely varies upon use. I'm hoping as time goes on, the battery life will get even better.
