Please Vote: Impeach US District Judge Lucy Koh

No, what Google should do now is counter sue, plain and simple. Shareholders should get on the phone now and ask why that isn't happening.

I respectfully disagree with this petition. Keep in mind this is the same judge who had initially denied an injunction early in the year (or was it December 2011?) for the tab but was forced to reconsider on appeal. She also denied giving Apple a hearing on the GSIII to give them an injunction. Well, that was more over Apple's choice as to not delay July's trial but regardless my point still stands.

We have appeals for this very reason. Let the process go through its paces, or work to change the system.

Judge Lucy Koh should be impeached from her US district court position and promptly investigated for misuse of judicial powers and disbarred if necessary.

I direct you to 2defmouze's post quoted below...specifically the bold part...

What you guys want is to see reform of the US Patent and courts systems... going after one judge is pointless, not to mention a waste of time as it's never going to happen.

Exactly. The problem isn't apple or any other company that sues. The problem is the system. They sue because they can. For every lawsuit apple has brought against someone they have 2 against themselves. Fix the patent system. And then another problem (and yes I'm going to say it) is google themselves. For as much as people can hate apple they should also look at google. They go around strong arming every little company that tries to succeed in an area that google is a competitors. They phase them out with their search engine by pushing them to the bottom, use our location and personal information for anything they choose, and most importantly use technology that other companies invented while trying to avoid licensing fees when other companies just pay it up. But then google isn't the one going to court. It's samsung and htc because they make the phones. Google sits back and let those companies fight a battle they shouldn't be in if google Didn't try to go around the system. Does the system suck? Yes. But you have to abide by it. If google would just pay the licensing fees until the system is fixed (just like other companies) then there would be no problems.

Because it could antagonize a justice department that is already watching every move Google makes like a hawk. There is a reason they have not responded, and it has everything to do with the antitrust investigations that are currently ongoing.

While Apple walks all over Samsung and everyone that produces Android Phones?

The alternative could be much worse.

Google has a very thin line to walk, and it cannot afford even the slightest mistake.

I don't believe that Google will ever wade into this conflict directly unless its to broker a settlement with apple.

Why? Because she's an Apple fan?

This isn't about one single person or one single company or phone. It's about progression and development. And it can be defended on all fronts whether it be defended by showing disapproval of a person's decision, trying to change a law or voting with our wallet.

Big changes start with small ones. Every little thing counts. It sends a message.

Petition signed

It sends a message that you don't understand the process and choose instead to take it out on someone that is tasked with enforcing the law. Its an insult to people like Judge Koh, and an affront to how the legal system is supposed to work.

She didn't write the laws and didn't grant the patents. She is enforcing them as the law requires her to do.

Really... REALLY? Another thread about this? Come on people stop winning and complaining. Yes this sucks and its ridiculous about the rulings in most cases but I will again point to 2def's post... US court system needs to be changed. Until then nothing will change.

By complaining constantly, no one wins. May feel good for 2 minutes but what does it actually accomplish? Want to do something? Don't support any Apple product. Simple as that.

This kind of posting is simply ignorant. She followed the law as it stood. The issue is with the US patent system. They have been known to rubber stamp things, be it due to sheer volume or some other factors. There is no way Apple should be able to patent search that comes up with multiple responses. Especially when Google has been doing that for years - they are kind of a big deal in the Internet search community.

The fact that people are trying to impeach her is ridiculous. Does it suck that the Nexus was banned when there shouldn't have been a patent issued that could allow for this? Absolutely. But to try to ruin someone's life because she followed and enforced a law (as per what she is required to do in her job) is simply stupid and ignorant as to how the world works.

I hate Apple's tactics just as much as the next guy and that the Nexus got hosed, but things like this are simply immature and ridiculous. I hope the mods remove threads like this.

I agree let's impeach.

All judges who follow the law should be impeached. Who cares about laws when they get in the way of a phone we want. I for one would much rather have judges who throw the law out the window and do what they dam well please. Why even have laws opinions would be much better and could be left to personal interpretation and feelings instead of a universal standard. Think of how beautiful it would be anarchy would reign supreme.
Murder, molestation, rape. I'm sure we could find a judge with a sympathetic ear for anything.
How dare her base her ruling on law.

I don't care what kind of phone you use, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence. Sent using tapatalk 2.

i think the korean american argument is just plain ridiculous. that said, i think judge koh is on board wih the idea that she can issue biased and improper opinions based on blatant misuse of the patent law forum by apple. you need to remember judge koh "is a former silicon valley lawyer" and he husband a law professor. if you tell me she didnt have an apple related client while a lawyer than i have some swamp land in florida to sell you for your casino. she should have disqualified herself on that basis alone. and keep in mind she was appointed by obama. i think she will try to rig the game for apple as much as she can, without having the court for the federal circuit slap her down. so yes, there may be grounds for impeachment. this case is so important because one woman on the district court can materially assist apple in eliminating competition. that is YOUR CHOICE AS A CONSUMER that judge koh will eliminate. now of course she will say i am only following the law...blah blah blah, but trust me, her peers wont question her on that. the conflict of interest review process in the federal courts is like a sieve. so dont expect judge koh to consider these issues. just watch this actvist judge eliminate meaningful smartphone competition through misuse and abuse by apple of the patent laws (which joe shmoe and the rest of us dont understnd anyway). perfect venue for apple and judge koh to get up to no good, with the rest of us paying the consequences.
