Yes, that is going to be the next thing to try. If it doesn't work you will need to do the permenent root cause you will need to restart your phone several times. Power off your phone and hold the down volume key and the power button (from the off state) for about 10 seconds. This should bring you to the recovery page. It will need to be the black screen with green letters.

If you get to the recovery screen you need to do a data wipe before installing ApeX. Then you can select intall zip from SD and choose your ApeX zip.

so you know if tried a data factory reset and a wipe partition and it just wont get rid of that dam tranqulity

It would not get rid of tranquility cause it is the loaded ROM. It replaced the stock rom.

i have the following screen options..

1. reboot
. apply sd.update.zip
wipe data factory reset
wipe cache

That's what i was afraid of. It's only letting you into stock recovery. You said that you could download from the market? Reboot the phone, uninstall and reinstall bootstrap. And download ROM Mandager.

you won't be able to load update zip cause it is for the stock rom only

ok downloaded rom manager and unstalled and reloaded boostrap

Ok, go into bootstrap, and click the bootstrap recovery, then you need to go to rom manager and flash clockworkMod Recovery. After the recovery is flashed, then you can reboot into recovery from ROM Manager.

OK, great. When you get to the recovery screen, there will be an option for install zip from sd. Make sure that is there and then do a wipe data/factory restore.

yes, just tested on mine and it will take you to the right screen.

when I open super there is nothing in there
