Plugging in power kills my phone

... Which is freaking great. Anyone else having this issue or know why this is happening? And this isn't a cord or charger problem. It happens with all of them beginning last night.

My old ticker, moto x 1st gen, isnt doing that, but i have noticed the degrade of the battery since i first bought it two years ago. 5.1 has been a mess for it. Mainly the sheer OS isnt good i think.

About six weeks or so ago I put a new battery in my original Moto X which I've had for about 2 years now. It's just like a new phone again, awesome battery life and 5.1 lollipop is excellent on it. If you really like your original Moto X, I would suggest putting a new battery in it. They're only about $8 on Amazon and they come with the NFC tag.

Are you using the original charger? I've found that if I don't use the charger / cable that came with the phone, it doesn't charge fast enough and sometimes dies while charging. Plug it in with the Moto charger and I'm fine for the most part.
