Pocket frogs, root access...

At the recommendation of Android central, I gave pocket frogs a try. It is a fun game and everything but after the most recent update I opened it to see it asking for superuser access. Obviously I didn't allow it and the game still works fine. I am waiting to hear back from the dev with an explanation but so far have only received a generic response from them. Has anybody heard anything about this or know of any reason the game would need root?

There's no reason at all it should need root. I froze/quarantined the app until it's fixed. If it's not fixed quickly, I'll be deleting it permanently and will never support any Mobage app in the future.
