Pocketnow HTC 10 camera review after update.

I did share android authority video man. And I think you're giving these people very little credit.

But mostly, I don't listen to what they say. I mean I do give it a listen. But I mostly LOOK at the pictures myself and judge the quality myself.

To be honest I didn't get impressed by the quality of the pictures from the beginning. But the reviewers kept 'saying' that it's an amazing camera. The evidence to me showed otherwise. However many reviewers say it how it is. I don't know.

But you're right. But also, I watch and read around 25 reviews before I make a judgement. If I'm posting two or three over here it doesn't mean those are the only one I'm checking out.

I reeeeally want to get this phone. I'm tired of using Samsung. I just want somebody to say and show me its as good. Someway. Somehow.

Yea, go with what makes you comfortable. I did quite a few semesters of photography while majoring in arts and I'll be posting a lot of pics that push the limits of the cam once my pre-order arrives. Maybe it'll help out others who are on the fence. If the cam doesn't thrill me, I'll be honest about it and the phone will be going back.

I'll be waiting man!

I find Phil's reaction to this post a bit odd. No one was arguing with him yet, he got so defensive. Why so **** hurt Phil?

My **** feels just fine. I just think it's funny how many folks immediately latched onto the "Ohhhhhh, this is a REAL camera review because it's got an update!" thing. Generally folks in forums are more savvy than that.

Wow. You don't sound like a professional reviewer. We asked from you just to be that.

Sorry being the idiots that we are :)

Please delete this thread. Or at least give us the option to do it.

All I wanted was to know about the camera quality of the phone. I don't know how we arrived at this point.

Phil, kindly delete this thread. And know that we respect you. And pocketnow. And all of the reviewers equally. We trust everyone. Because we're all humans. We can make mistakes. And even though you are super human and you can't, that doesn't mean you should make fun of people who do.

Now, please. With all do respect. Delete this useless thread. Your forums don't deserve idiots like me to be on them.

The only place I can find anyone mentioning a "Real Review" is here:
The only "real review" is gonna be from Flossy Carter.
No one on here said it was the "Real Review" because it got an update and I'm certainly not "latched" onto that notion. It's simply a review from another site on the camera after an update was applied. Maybe you don't like the review because it didn't come from AC, I don't know, but I have to agree with Rizwan, "You don't sound like a professional reviewer." Don't lash out at us like we're morons for liking a review from another site. Personally, I think one of the best reviewers is Marques Brownlee but that doesn't mean I don't watch or read yours.

Phil, Juan Bagnell has been using the phrase "Real Camera Review" long before the HTC 10's review was posted. "Real" was never meant to imply that he was reviewing the camera post-update while other sites were reviewing pre-update, and therefore his was "real" and yours was "fake".

He uses that term as it reflects the depths he goes to in his camera review. They are 12+ minutes long...4-5 minutes longer than most sites video reviews of the entire phone.

I truly believe that you're interpreting the title of the review incorrectly and getting offended for absolutely no reason.

Edit: fixed autocorrect of Juan's name.

I'm really not offended. I'm just saying if you listen to the intro you get the sense that anything done before that minor camera update should be disregarded. And that, IMHO, is wrong.

The upcoming update actually is probably a little more important. But even then not some sort of cure-all (which, again, I don't think this camera necessarily needs).

I really think we all just need to hug it out. :p

You should've taken out your anger on the review or the reviewer. Not us.

We didn't discredit anyone's review or compared any reviewers. Went Donald Trump on us for no reason :o

Why keep fighting? The phone should be ship soon. Everybody can see how good/bad the camera is.

I have yet to buy a phone because of how good the camera is. Most of the cameras on these phones are now pretty decent with a few exceptions and most at the lower end. Let's be honest....phones are great for taking snapshots and they are certainly convenient. For anything else, you simply need a dedicated camera.

The best camera is the one on you.

I think we all know how smartphone cameras have already replaced point and shoots. And they certainly are going to replace all cameras one day.

You should Google smartphone camera photography competitions. You'll be amazed to see what people are doing. And won't be able to tell the difference between them and professional camera photographs.

People in less developed countries like me, can't afford two devices. We prefer to get a phone and make use of it to fulfill our photography needs. Phone is a necessity. Camera is an option. So we prefer combining the two to get the best out of our money.

A good point and shoot, Canon or Sony, costs around $700. A decent phone costs around $200-400.

Getting a good phone camera and a good phone experience in $400-600 is a huge win for us!

So... Yes. Yes? No?

I don't think reviewers understand this. Most of the viewers don't have the means to carry more than one devices. Let alone, the means to keep switching devices if they don't get satisfied because of the losses they might face.

We all want the best and the latest thing out there. Even us who can't afford it all but possess the passion for it. So you know how important it is for us to be sure about what we are getting.

Just a thought.

I think you missed my point and if you can only afford one than by all means nitpick on which phone has the best camera. I've checked out all the of the top phones in person and read most off the reviews. They all do a decent job.

As for not being able to tell the difference between them and professional camera photographs...that's just plain rubbish. You can't change the laws of physics....larger lenses and larger sensors makes all the difference in the world for starters..... And try taking Sports action shots or other fast moving activities with a cell phone. Good luck
The only Good thing about a cell phone camera Is that you babe our on you most of the time. When I going somewhere where I really want great pictures and they allow cameras I take my compact DSLR. Its the same size as a pocket size point and shoot and allowed at most sports Venus and concerts since they think it's a point and shoot.

You summed it up in the first paragraph. Yes that's the only reason why we nitpick.

Secondly, do check out the competitions. I will link one here if I find one.

Thirdly, of course the camera game is completely different and better. Its a different ballgame. But my point was that it's converging.

You can witness this convergence in video side by seeing Danny Wingets videos. Theyre mostly shot on phones. While it's easy for "us" to tell the difference. It's still amazing to see the quality.

In the end, of course I agree with you. Camera game is different. And yes. You can't get high definition pixel clear action shots and what not with your phones. But they're getting there. Step by step. Baby steps. But still landscapes, architectural photography, street photography, urbanscapes, even portraits etc, are all very much doable with phones nowadays. And not just doable, but doable in a way that they look reeeeally good.

Anyways. You are right. The best option would be to carry two devices. For those who can afford them.

Because there is no "the" update. THAT's the problem. Somewhere someone decided that there's some cure-all out there for cameras, and it's only a matter of time until that update is released. That's just not how things work most of the time.

And especially in this case, with a camera that's already REALLY good.

That said, this upcoming update should be a bigger deal than the earlier one we got. (I've said too much already.)

But in any event, this is all pre-release stuff.

Is today's 1.3 camera patch the one you've said too much about already? :-)
