Poetic Bumper & Atmosphere avail. Dec 30

haha - rubenesque indeed.

I can't imagine what could protect those edges any better though. I do think they could have gone without the grey color edges to at least not highlight it so much.

My bumper came in today. Just put it on.

The bumper fits well and feels great in the hand. I don't worry NEARLY as much about dropping it. It also does not hinder my Qi charger. I do wish it were all black though.

I got my Atmosphere case today. It's quite rigid on the sides. There are no cutouts for the buttons on the sides. The top mic hole is aligned well, the bottom holes (mic & USB port) are aligned. The case does add a bit of thickness to the top and will offer some protection if dropped on its face onto a flat surface. The sides are not slippery, but does not making gripping the phone any easier than normal. The sides do not cover much of the screen so the area not covered by my Spigen screen protector are exposed. The case does take a bit of effort to take off because of the rigid sides. My main and so far only beef of the case is that the back does not allow me to show off the back glassy effect of the phone.

Here's a link with some pics alongside a portable battery charger.

I received my borderline bumper today. It is definitely a pretty decent alternative to the nexus bumper. I already have the nexus bumper and the poetic bumper is noticeably not as long or wide as the nexus bumper and just slightly thicker. The Grey on the poetic is darker than I thought it would be and overall it fits very well and feels good in the hand. I would say the poetic bumper is actually easier to hold on to compared to the nexus bumper.

Overall, the nexus bumper looks a little more refined, but I will be sticking with the poetic bumper and selling the nexus bumper on ebay.

THis is pretty much what I would guess without actually having the OEM version. Thanks for confirming my guess!

Per the title. Poetic Bumper & Atmosphere available Dec. 30th.

I personally love the Atmosphere for my girlfriends iPhone 5 so I will be picking that up. And for the price it beats everything else out there IMO.

i would have done the same thing, if i could have gotten a hand on a bumper. people are buying these on ebay for $49+. even though i would love the nexus4 to myself, thinking of even ebaying that since suckers people are buying them for $500 or more :-$

I had some informations from poetic atmosphere yesterday and the guy told me that they will actually ship to Canada but only after their christmas and new year's rush because they are overwhelmed with orders. I'll wait a month or so to order mine.

I live in Canada and was not able to order the poetic bumper case from amazon.com as they do not ship to Canada. My inquiry with the vendor indicated that they do not ship to Canada...and no indication was given that this would change soon. If you do an EBay search for "poetic bumper nexus 4", you will find it for sale for the same price as it is listed on amazon.com right now. You will have to pay $3 for shipping. I ordered one and it was shipped same day. Just waiting for it to arrive.

I got the Poetic case just before Christmas. It works well enough, seems about right for $10. I'd still prefer the OEM bumper (C'mon Google!!!)

I'd previously bought this screen protector: XtremeGuard LCD Full Body Screen Protector Shield Skin for LG Google Nexus 4 | eBay which I don't like.... It's kinda sticky feeling, and takes away the nice glide you get when using the phone bareback. Also, it doesn't play well with the Poetic case (but this may be emblematic of all screen protectors) -- the case interferes with the edges of the screen protector, causing them to lift and bubble at various places around the perimeter of the (front) screen. (This doesn't seem to happen to the back glass protector.) Every time I knock down a bubble, two more appear somewhere else. Ugh.

But I still keep using the screen protector, as in just a few days of not using it I had put a couple of faint scratches in the front screen. I'm too scared to go without, Gorilla Glass 2 or not...

The poetic atmosphere case is easily the best I have had yet. The kayscase hard case would have been my 2nd favorite, but I got one of the defective ones from the first batch and it doesn't protect the screen when face down. The nillkin matte black with the etching on the back looked really good but also didn't protect the screen and was very slippery.

So far this is the first case I have been truly happy with. The rubberized front keeps the screen from touching any surfaces when face down, and the hard back is not slippery. The buttons for power and volume are also extraordinarily nice on this phone compared to the generic TPU cases I've used. I would have preferred an all black case, but this case is just perfect in every other way. My search ends here.

I got the Atmosphere case today. As a case it is much better than the Nillikin case, but I am not sure I like the frosted back on it. I wish I could find one that is 100% clear rather than frosted. It cheapens the look and makes it look dirty. I also ordered a clear plastic case. Will see if that looks nicer. I do like the buttons a lot more on the Atmosphere. The power button on the Nillikin was in a weird place.

Why can't someone just make a nice bumper style case made with metal edges and clear plastic back? and in black or silver, not puke grey.

I got my Poetic Atmosphere on 1/5 -- it has cutouts for the buttons, now. It fits very snugly, and has a low profile. The frost-colored back might not be aesthetically pleasing, but its not a distraction. I think I'll get better protection (with a front screen) that the bumper offerss. Very happy with my choice and recommend it.

I've had my atmosphere for about a week now. It's just okay. It does offer better protection than the OEM bumper, but that's about it. I am pretty disappointed with the aesthetics though. I would hardly called the color "frosted". It looks like cheap tupperware that been through the dishwasher a couple of dozen times. And the plastic is a bit too smooth for my liking as well. It needs a bit more texture to it. That being said, the price was certainly right and it is probably still the best option in the sub-$10 price range. Looking at all the other options, it looks like I am probably going to have to bite the bullet and take a step up in class for my next case. I am most likely going to give the $35 Ballistic soft gel case a shot next. It will definitely add a bit of bulk over the atmosphere, but should make up for that with a much better feel to it.

My first thought on getting mine was that it would've looked a lot better with a fully transparent, gloss finish rather than a semi-opaque matte finish. But that type of material would quickly show any scuffs, scratches, or abrasions, so I can understand why Poetic designed it the way they did.

I agree 100% about the material being too smooth, though. At the least they could have provided some texture to the sides; as it is, this case is very slippery.

They should still sell a clear one though and just give a warning. Some of us that like the looks of clear showing the back though would probably also pony up the cash to buy a new one every so often as it gets badly scratched. lol

Im using the poetic bumper with Clarivue ultra clear screen protectors (front and back) and am loving it. The only issue I'm having is that the first batch of poetic bumpers were defective (its starting to come apart at the seams) they should be replacing mine soon though.
