Blue gate is real just like antenna gate for the iPhone was real and the notes was a safety hazard. I know it hurts being a android enthusiast for some of you, but they seem to have made a bad product that needs fixing. Oh well. Just fix the issue so customers can stop getting screwed over. That’s what it comes down to.
Comparing a legitimate, but generally only aesthetic issue to one which disrupted functionality and another that caused bodily harm is a bit of a stretch.
Antennagate: When holding the phone in the natural, ergonomic manner, it could interfere with the phone's ability to communicate properly with mobile networks, potentially disrupting the ability to connect or maintain calls.
Bluegate: When holding the form in other than the natural, ergonomic manner, it could cause the phone to inaccurately display colors on the screen. Like every other OLED phone on the market, simply (and regrettably) to a greater degree. (hint - maybe call it OLEDgate?).
Firegate: When holding (or even owning) the phone, wear flame resistant clothing at all times.
This accessory highly recommended.
Here's the problem, though... If you're suggesting they need to "fix the issue," how little of a blue shift would a panel have to have now for you to be satisfied? Does it need to have less temperature shift than the Note 8? Is a little more permissable? Wherever you draw the line, it's in a grey area - why is it a "bad product" that deserves the lambasting it has received when zero criticism has been applied to the other OLED handsets that exhibit the same issue to a measurable degree?
