Yes, removing the plastic also removes the Google logo. I removed mine a few months ago with some fine sandpaper and painters tape protecting the phone. Looks pretty good.

You must have sanded yours away. I gently picked mine off with a penny and still have my logo. It's white underneath so the color does change though.

The Google logo is etched into the metal. It doesn't go away by peeling the plastic......unless you sanded the metal way down, or they started making different kickstands at some point?
