I haven't had that at all. I can ask assistant for anything and it will behave like with my phone. Also haven't had it stop.

Same with CarPlay. Plug and go.

I agree with that statement though... Using the Assistant has never failed. Only the AA interface. I also noticed it fair more in the first few days.... Not so much now

You pretty much described how AA works.

1) Driving mode, yes.
2) Driving mode will mute your notifications, yes. It will still allow calls & texts, yes.
3) 1: When you get a text, it will play your text alert tone through the car audio system and show a pop up at the top of the vehicle's infotainment system.
3) 2: You can tap the pop up, or say "hey Google read my messages". It will then tell you who the text is from, and ask to read the message to you.
3) 3: You will then be asked if you want to reply.
3) 4: See above.

Replying to messages is pretty accurate via voice. Optionally, you can call that contact via voice command as well; all without touching the phone. To answer, you do have to tap either the icon on the screen or your steering wheel button.

Hope this info helps. :)

3) 2: You can tap the pop up, or say "hey Google read my messages". It will then tell you who the text is from, and ask to read the message to you.

I'm so mad that I didn't know this. As I said previously, I use AA every day and have always tapped the pop up to hear the text message, which is dangerous actually. Lmao!
Thanks for teaching me something new.

I hate that Toyota still doesn't support Android Auto. An announcement is expected soon they will add Android Auto.

I find that odd as well, since they support CarPlay. Toyota cited "privacy concerns" as part of their reasoning to not have AA capability. Really Toyota? You'll allow Facebook through the Entune system and you're concerned about privacy? Haha

Seriously though, this was a main factor in my decision to look away from Lexus on my last car purchase.

I've been using AA on my phone since shortly after the Galaxy S8+ was released. I use it daily as it puts the most important things right at your finger tips. Can't wait to get my new car (early next year) that has AA built into the audio system.

I insist on Android Auto if I have a rental, but in my Jeep I use a full Android head unit:

However, if I pick up the OnePlus 6T tomorrow, since it will have Pie, I might check out a Wireless Android Auto head unit

I have it on my 2018 TLX. It's a game changer. I don't think i'd ever want a car that does not have phone integration. Google Maps/Waze is better than any on board nav. Also, the ability to use stitcher and spotify.

If I had Nav on my car I probably wouldn’t use AA or CP, but I opted out of paying the $1000 here in Canada for on-board Nav.

I like AA better because it's provides real-time traffic and it's maps are always up to date.

Working great with my 2016 Golf using the small usbc cable came with 6p. A bit sluggish sometimes going between sections but working well

I use it all the time on my Ford Focus Electric. It's great to have Google Maps pushed directly to the car dashboard.

I have used it, works great for me easy connection on my 2017 GMC Sierra. I admit I don't use it often as I find using the screen on my 2XL is good enough for me for maps. Google assistant works most of the time on my phone in vehicle, havent tried it out while connected with Android Auto, have to give that a go as it may make me use it more often.

Use Google maps threw AA
Was having a few problems, went back to the Hyundai dealer.
My salesman is a eyephone guy.
He turned me over to another salesman that was a Redneck from N.Y.
The Redneck said, don't talk to your phone.
Press this button on yer steering wheel and tell it where to take you.
Must say , much easier.
Other than Google Maps, I don't use it.

I use Sirius radio other than that

Use it for navigation, responding to texts via GA or calling and podcasts, love AA

Do you use Android Auto (or maybe got to try it in a friends car)? I personally love using Android Auto (or CarPlay for iPhone) within my truck. I can't imagine not using it now a days due to the convenience of voice commands + maps on the screen.

So I am curious... Do you use Android Auto? Or possibly want it?
No. If it were wireless maybe. I don't know of anything it does that my phone does anyway. Google maps and wireless Bluetooth for music. What else do I need?
