I have had it quite a few times on my HTC Desire HD (not rooted). It gets really annoying.

I've had this problem happen to me a few times. I will select a conversation to type on, and it will go to somebody else's conversation without me knowing. Also, I've had the problem where it just completely sends to the wrong person.

I have never experienced this bug, could be a bad thing if you send a text about your boss to your boss ... LOL

I had my Evo since launch date and I never had that bug. Guess I'm just lucky

Not sure if it's a bug or what! I have not been able to download any mms photos attached to my text messages. The icon says "downloading" but nothing and if I try to send a photo attached to a text it will not send I keep getting an error message saying " can't send". Was on the phone for an hour and a half trying to get some answers from Sprint last night and still have the same problem this morning.

The SMS bug revered to in this thread is the tendancy for text messages to be sent to the wrong person randomly.

Never had it happen. I do however, use Handcent. I just prefer it over the stock app.

OK what happens for me very specific...

I will select a thread in SMS to respond to, and sometimes the phone (I have an HTC EVO running baked snack 1.8 with the stock SMS app) will select a DIFFERENT thread, and if I do not notice, then I will have typed out a message and it goes to the wrong recipient.

If, however, I DO notice which thread is brought up (about 1 in 10 misses, and it's not just fat fingers, it's a thread from MUCH lower down in the list, not next to the one I intended to select) and I bring up the correct one, it sends to the intended recipient correctly.

This is the exact description of my issue. The only time it went to the wrong recipient is when I didn't notice it pulled the wrong thread. Only change to info is that I have a stock TB using the stock messaging app within Sense.

Well I just had it last week in my nexus s 4g, text my wife something a lil...umm nasty and it went to another female in my contacts.....wow
