Poor GPS performance.

This is probably a coincidence, but I got a quicker and more accurate GPS lock after I rooted. Also, it seemed to me to have a more difficult time locking when there was a usb cable attached to the phone.

I'm playing with two right now that are suffering from the GPS issues that were mentioned on the other Galaxy S devices. Although it seems minor, the positioning is just off by a few blocks.

By a few blocks LOL does it effect navigation?

No GPS issues here! Working flawlessly here in MD (with some 4G spotting as well!)

Mine put me right at my house after I changed the settings and reset my phone. I am very pleased with it. Much better than my blackberry bold.

For me, it locks me at my house in a couple of seconds. Dead on. 30m is acceptable for me, but this isn't even showing a bubble. I've had a hero and a Palm Pre and this blows both out of the water in positioning and time-to-lock (especially against the pre, that thing was horrible).

Was driving around all morning with google maps on, followed me pretty damn exactly. I wonder why it works for some and not others, or maybe in some areas and not others...

GPS not working

I upgraded from a pre so I feel like a noob all over again with the Epic. Am I missing something? My GPS is on, but when I open navigator it just keeps searching for location and cant find me.

That's what I'm wondering! I think it's pretty unusual.

Buyer Beware - GPS doesn't work!

I posted this earlier, but people acted like I was an apple rep trying to rain on their party.... So, when to spring and exchanged my NEW epic 4g with another New epic 4g phone and even in the new phone the GPS isn't working....

This time i bought proof... Read the comments on link below on CNN for the non believers

P.S. I'm a 14 yr IT vet,

Sorry you're having trouble...

Post should be titled doesn't work in your area. I just turned mine on at my desk...Google Navigation not only found me in 5 seconds after selecting a destination - It's got me right in my desk approx. in a building my PRE and EVO couldn't even get GPS reception in.

Yesterday I used Google Nav, Sprint Nav and Pandora simultaneously as a multitasking exercise. Both Navs were accurate and nothing crashed. Something my evo couldn't do was 1 Nav app and pandora without crashing the entire phone to reboot.

I'm having the same issue, I hope it is just a setting that needs to be changed. I also tried it outside to no avail.

If the GPS is indeed on and you open sprint nav and it wont lock on (mine took less then a inute the first time) then you might want to take it to sprint and see if they will look into it and find out if its a bad GPS receiver or not.

How did you turn gps on?

i have tryed both apps. Inside and outside. Still keeps searching my pre used to come right up.
