Poor Motorola Droix X battery life?

I can't understand why some of are having horrible battery life. I can't touch your numbers, and I have battery saver on with all social network and weather updates off.

I am posting this here also:

Listen up every one this is very important. This problem with battery life appears to be a software problem. I was down 60% in four hours. I restarted the phone (powered down then turned on) and it went back up to 90% upon restart.

So the upgrade this week should fix it. DO NOT wait until it get to 5% to do this because it wont restart.

I just did this!!! My phone was dead, came home charged it to 20% did a battery pull and its at 60%!! I have been having horrible life!

It has nothing to do with a false battery indicator when the phone actually turns off due to a dead battery after only 5 hours of use.

I let mine run until it turned off, I immediately pulled battery then powered it back on and it showed 40% and stayed up for almost 4 hours. Can someone else try this! I really think the indicator is the big problem! When it gets so low, the software shuts the phone down, if the os is reading a faulty battery level, it will shutdown early! Anywho someone else run there phone without reboot untill it shuts down, then pull battery and try and reboot, and see what you get.

This just happened to me. My phone said it was down to 5% I turned the phone off and powered it back on. Popped back to 40% and it's been running for the past 3 hours.

My batt life is slowly getting better, as the hype of a new phone goes down, i'm finding less need for 60000 apps and internet tabs running at the same time, so its sitting with the screen locked unless I'm texting or checking Facebook, which is improving the life greatly.

100% wrong. My battery pretends its dead, I to get the charger to get it to boot up. Then from dead after a reboot I'm back to 40%

Yeah, I did this too tonight and my battery jumped from 20 % to 70% right away. So it looks like the incoming OTA updated may well fix it. This sure makes me feel a lot better.

Battery fix! maybe?

I think I might have a solution for this software battery problem! ( dont hold it that way, JK!)
So basically drain your battery all the way down until it will auto shutdown, then plug in the charger BUT DO NOT TURN ON THE PHONE, hit the on button one time so you see the big battery charger indicator in the middle of the screen and leave it at that, you may come back from time to time to check on the status untill its at 100% then turn it back on. Maybe this might help a few folks out there.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention it takes longer for it to charge this way to 100%... so maybe this will do the trick...

With the gps off my phone after 16 hours is at 50%. Even though I wasn't using it the gps appear to destroy the battery on this phone. Very inefficient.

From what I read on other forums the battery reading phantomly going back up from 20 to 70 or whatever was a mirage. Several peep said that even though their battery said 70% 2 hours later the phone was flat dead. I'd be curious if anyone who is seeing this boost is noticing significantly longer life or is this a false positive indicator of more life.

At least for me though. 2 days my phone was essentially dead after 12-13hours. Gps off and 15 hours Im at 50% so looks like something there.

On mine, if i run it till dead (shuts down) i can boot it back up n run several more hours. Mine is a false NEGATIVE i suppose. Others here report the same.

well ok, run it till it shuts down, then turn it back on, and then run it again till it gos off, then charge the battery in off mode..

Itlan, I can't speak for others, but my phone was approaching 15% when I pulled (the last 20% usually goes fast) and the restarted and hit 70% (give or take, didn't look at the hard number) and then surfed the web and messed with apps for a couple more hours before going back to work. Battery is still at 50%, and this would now be 14 hours after I last charged it. Also, today I turned the sat back on, but still better battery life than yesterday.

I still can's see an obvious trend in all the noise in these reports (mine included) but lets hope the software fix sets it straight!

when i first got it the batt indicator was terrible but then i stopped using the Moto social widgets and somehow the battery indicator started being more accurate although still minutely inaccurate
