pop up on screen

there is a grey ribbon at the top of my screen that has partner written in it. i can not do anything on my phone until I click on the ribbon and then a ad pops up. I am trying to figure out what is on my phone and how to get rid of it.

Welcome to the forums. That sounds like adware from an app that you downloaded. This guide can help you to identify which app is pushing those ads.

It's called adware, and it comes as part of an app you installed (either deliberately, or by tapping on something without looking, on a website or in a text). You have to look through all your apps to see if there's something that didn't come with the phone and you didn't install. If there is nothing, then you have to start uninstalling apps in the reverse order in which you installed them, until it stops. The last one you uninstalled is the culprit. (You might want to use App Backup & Restore to back up all the apps you've recently installed, or Apk Extractor to back them up one by one before uninstalling each one, so that installing them back will be easier. (App Backup & Restore makes it easy to reinstall them. Just delete the apk of the bad app, then tap the box at the top to select all the backed up apps, and tap Restore.)
