Portable charger - Discharges?

Hi,

When I use the tomtom on my Galaxy S6, I have the brightness on the max setting, location services on also I switch my mobile data on. Obviously the battery life drains really fast, but I used to use a portable charger to charge it up. But lately when I have been using it, it tells me that its charging but the battery life ends up decreasing for example if I plug it in at 78% over the course of my journey it ends up dropping to 35%? I am hoping someone can tell me why, as it did charge before.

The portable charger has 1amp and 2.1amp port, so I use the 2.1amp as it is supposed to charge faster. I never had this problem with my Iphone 4 and I am annoyed as this phone was supposed to be an upgrade, but the fact I can't even use it with portable charger is upsetting.


It is weird as it says its charging yet it drops in battery life.
Help??

Hello! It sounds like the portable charger is faulty. Can you return it?

I have two different ones both charge other devices. It can charge the Galaxy S6 when I am running for general use; music, games or browsing. But when I decide to use the tomtom, max screen brightness and mobile data thats when it discharges. It is like the settings equal to more battery usage than portable charge give to the phone, so when I use tomtom the phone seems, for example, use 2X worth of battery but the portable charger can only provide 1X.

It's possible that it's taking a charge but it is discharging faster than your portable charger is charging it.

What type of portable charger do you have?

Vinsic 20,000 mah and two Tecknet 10,000 mah. If that is the case, then this is really rubbish, I am using the 2.1 amp port, which is the highest one available. How on earth does it manage discharge faster than it can charge?? There has to be a way for it to be the other way around.

I would use an app like battery monitor widget to log battery charging both with screen on and screen off

That would be fine. The phone will only take as much power as it needs. Extra won't hurt
