Portrait mode on youtube is not working

[Android Central Question]

I am using the Huawei Nova 3i. When i am using youtube , there will be videos that is able to view in portrait mode full screen. However on my phone it does not go full screen portrait mode but landscape mode making the video small and annoying. I tried putting my phone on auto rotate but it just stays in landscape mode.
