I already *****ed in another thread that the Xoom forum has become a place for people to whine about the Xoom and talk about how great the Ipad 2 is. This forum is so different then the Droid X forum where most could careless about the Iphone and are thrilled with the Droid X. My hopes are still this forum can become this. So With that being said here is some positive news regarding the Xoom. Two different comparisons of the Xoom VS the Ipad 2. (One is only part 1) Even though both people will not come right out and say the Xoom kicks ass it is obvious when reading and watching the Xoom blows away the IPad 2 and makes it look like a kids toy. I especially like the Phone Dog reviewer who does like the Ipad 2 but keeps saying if Mom or Grandma wants to play with a tablet the Ipad 2 is for them.

This place will get better, I'm sure of it. As more Xooms come out, the wifi version and maybe even a Sprint version, we'll be a lot more xoom-centric here.

I hear you though, it reminds me of the Evo forum right after it first came out.

Every other post was, "Should I wait for the iphone?"

We'll get there, it's just some growing pains, all worth it I'm sure.

Welcome to most major release products that are android and apple. Almost every forum that you will visit is like that for a while as people figure out if they want to drop the dough to get the product they are on the fence about. Hell the g2 forum still gets those kinds of questions. Here are still a good amount of quality posting in most of android central forums and is why I continue to come back. Between this and xda there isn't any where else a android fan needs to go.

Totally agree!! Love the Xoom and hope the Xoom forum continues to grow and develop in support of Xoom owners.

Remember - as other Honeycomb tablets get released, the Xoom will get stronger. The more market share Honeycomb has in general, the better. Similar to how Android overtook the iPhone, Honeycomb will take over the iPad.

I don't believe in devout worship of any of my devices. For one, that's just fanboyism and isn't honest. For two, if Motorola has anybody checking out forums, they'll think we're all peachy about everything. For three, it feels too Mac-like and cult-ish.

That being said, there's no reason we need to be too negative on this forum (and I don't think we are). I'm gonna check out those link though, because I always like good news

I'm just as annoyed by the "OMG THE XOOM IS SOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE IPAD2. THE IPAD2 IS A KIDS TOY!! LOLOLOLOL" posts/threads as the ones bashing the Xoom. I think forum posters need to realize and accept the fact that we aren't programmed robots or brainwashed sheep. We're all allowed to have different opinions. And the posters need to especially realize people have differences in usage, needs, and desires. So while the Xoom might be the right choice for me, that doesn't make it the right choice for EVERYONE. And vice versa.

Ugh, can we stop with the whole "I've gotta have the last word in the Xoom vs iPad2 battle"? There is no battle.

Yeah, I think it is just a matter of preference, I sell phones as a part time job, and when people ask me to choose between android and iPhone I always tell them it's down to preference, I prefer android myself which is why I pre-ordered a Xoom and not an iPad. They are both good devices.

Everyday, or maybe every two days or so, I appreciate my Xoom more and more. It's not quite ready to replace my laptop, but that day is approaching fast.

I am in agreement with you and that is why I made this thread. I want the forum to be what the droid x forum is. A place where Xoom owners can go and make their tablets even better. So I posted some positive news (At least in my eyes) to get Xoom owners on track and turn this forum into a place where we can all help each other and make our Xooms better then they already are. Now that I sound like a sappy Ipad owner, (Just joking) do not hit me too hard for wanting to make this forum a more positive experience for Xoom owners.

I agree, and thank you for starting this thread. I return to the forums every day for tips, updates, and information about the xoom. If I wanted to read about the Ipad I would visit a form for the Ipad. I love the xoom, and it will only get better.
