Possible bad phone?

My issue is not being able to send text messages. We bought the phone 3 weeks ago, I have spoken to customer service 5 times to no avail. We have done a factory reset, pulled the battery, updated the phone, and nothing helps. The last representative I spoke to said the problem would be fixed by the end of the week. I am very frustrated with this problem. Other than that, the phone is great.

He just has a ty phone. Please root that phone and get set cpu. Undervolt to the lower setting. That should fix your problem

I asked almost a month ago if anyone was having problems with their evo v and at the time it was only a rebooting issue. Now it seems there have been radio and messaging problems as well. I really want this phone, and do not want to root it since it has ISC. Is this typical of a first run? Could this be a quality control issue? Or should I wait for the next "batch" of Evo's to see if these problems are resolved?

What we're seeing here with the activation and radio resource issues is not hardware related. It's software.

The phones that came out with the Sprint logo are hardware revision 0002... and these phones didn't have these issues with Gingerbread as the Android version.

I don't think I made a clear post earlier. I am aware it is a software issue. My guess is there was a problem with ISC flash. Maybe, I don't know. But I do have to depend heavily on my phone, so I can't afford for it to have unresolved problems with the software. My current ov is rooted and is running Harmonia to have the space I needed and because Harmonia is very stable. I guess I will continue to take a wait and see attitude.

Be warned. As of this morning my phone has randomly rebooted at least 5 times from just an idle state. I haven't had it long enough to even put apps on it, this is straight the box. If my phone isn't a dud, this is going to be an awful awful phone.

Get it exchanged. And please, for the love of god, don't spam using a signature.

I've had my phone for almost two months I think. It has randomly restarted atleast 3 times that I know about. I've never had to pull the battery out though.
