I have a prediction. We will see a commercial with the release date sometime in Feb during the football games today. Either today or during the Superbowl in two weeks. Anyone agree?

If it is the 13th then mostly during superbowl.. but we will definitely see ads on the phone..
Super bowl is the 6th, a week before the 13th, sounds good to me. If anyone sees an Atrix commercial during the super bowl please post a youtube link or something, became it probably means its coming out in February (and hopefully the 13th)
Hey, if Google broke years of silence and paid for a television ad during the Super Bowl, I would not be surprised in the least to see an Atrix (or some other Android phone) commercial during the Super Bowl this year.
Superbowl ads = super expensive advertising. If Moto or AT&T were willing to pay ~$3 million for a 30 sec timeslot, it would probably feature several devices, not just the Atrix.
Is it a wise idea to go ahead and pre-order the docks? I want to buy today, but I want to make sure I get them on launch day. Anyone know anything about the site that is doing pre-order?
Not sure... they might offer some bundled discount pricing.. But here is a link where u can preorder...

Just talked to an AT&T assistant manager (we were in 5 Guys having lunch and he came in to get something). Anyway struck up a convo with him about the atrix. He said he is going for training in downtown Chicago on Feb 2 specifically for the atrix. Lucky dog said they are giving him one that day that he gets to keep and that they should find out release date and pricing that day.

Are you sure your not talking about Thousand Oaks, CA? A 5 Guys just opened across the street from my local AT&T store... that's kind of weird.

well if this is accurate and the xoom is coming out on feb 17th than i believe the atrix will be out the 13th

im hopin it def is early to mid feb when it is released...and hopin it like 500 for a non-commitment price. just switch back to att from verizon last november n got a blackberry torch (had the og droid on verizon). they didnt have a comprable android device that i wanted on att so i took the later. im def pickin this up when it comes out though. so psyched!!
I too have STILL been looking all over the Internet and have yet to find any information that answers my question. There is no reason what-so-ever for the next-gen Motorola product not to be compatible with this current laptop dock except for pure greed. I think it will a smart move on Motorolas part as you have gave credit to Apple.
What if you buy the Atrix phone with the media dock and laptop dock when the phone comes out. Your wife contract isn't up until next year and when it's time to upgrade Motorola has the new LTE Atrix 4G. The only thing is it won't work with the now OLD laptop. For some reason the LTE Atrix the HDMI and USB ports are on a different area of the phone!
I'm so tired of forced upgrades.

Well I talked to the att guy tonite,...he didn't have the atrix, their training got canceled and rescheduled due to the blizzard. He said they did have a rep come in to show them the phone and docks.
He told me tonight that the extra 2g for the tethering (for a total of 4) is not a for sure thing yet. He said they've heard about the possibility but haven't been told that's official yet.
To me it's all a moot point anyway...I walked away from ATT tonight; they treated us like...yesterday's customers in the store tonight. I'm now the proud owner of a Samsung Mesmerize (Galaxy S) on US Cellular. I've been looking at them as an alternative to AT$$$T; they gave me a plan that at$$$t can't even come close to touching (5g data, 1500 min, unlimited texting, GPS nav, free incoming calls and texts just the highlights) for less than I was paying for 450 min and unlimited data and 200 texts monthly. Great coverage here in the Chicago area, as well as a few other places I travel to nationwide on regular basis.
I realize the Mesmerize isn't the latest and greatest. Supposed to be getting 2.2 in a couple of weeks; they had documentation printed out in the store. If it stalls, well I'll just root and do it myself. The little bit I've played with it so far makes me think I'm going to be very happy with this phone, and with a new carrier that actually cares about their customers.
Cheers! You can't go wrong with a Galaxy S- the hardware is awesome on that phone. As long as you're willing to root it to fix its software issues (GPS lag, lack of Froyo, etc), it's handy device. This coming from a former Craptivate owner- it's since been rooted and 2.2 and then given to my girlfriend.
Unlike you, I have a decent enough phone (Nexus One w/ Gingerbread), and I can wait another month.

Thanks...so far so cool! The other thing that came into play was that I'd had enough of ATT. If they were releasing the atrix tomorrow, I think I"d have still walked away. There was just such arrogance tonight (right in front of the assistant manager). For the amount they wanted to charge my wife to upgrade, I told the girl very politely that I could just ETF and go to verizon for the iphone. She basically shrugged and gave me a look that said, fine, go. Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. So we did.
